It was a lot chillier than Mason had expected it to be but it woke him up a bit as he rubbed at his nose and cheeks to warm them up. He still had to learn about his powers yet having only ever used them when having a violent outburst. Plus having no lighter didn’t help; he still had to learn about the ones Amanda had given him too.
It took him by surprise when he felt Amanda’s hand clasp his own but felt a smile cross him lips anyway at the heat that washed through him. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had a friend like this. There was this one guy he’d been close too once who had started off as friends. He missed the times they were like that for a long time until something great had happened but now that had proved out to be quite the waste of time and not worth thinking about around company that made him forget so easily.
He squeezed her hand gently and grinned, already forgetting what had happened and looking forward to being able to push any thoughts of the man out completely as he and Amanda worked on these new gifts. It was lucky Amanda’s shop was in town as they didn’t have far to walk. Mason rubbed at his eyes as they stung even more against the slight icy breeze, the rest of him feeling like he was sat in front of a fire at Christmas. His stomach grumbled hungrily and he almost jumped up and down when he saw the coffee shop come in to view but stopped himself when he realised how much effort that would be.

The cold wind made him shiver as his eyes fluttered open. The cabin had finally stopped burning and was nothing but ashes now. Kailah was still in his arms, she had a blanket around her and his body heat kept her warm, so she was fine. Kailah looked at her father, reaching out and touched his cheek. He was still laying down and just smiled at her, leaning over and kissed her forehead.
His side was still burnt, course it didn't look as bad as it did last night. His entire side was a fleshy pink color and stung abit, but nothing bad. The events that happened last night started to rush back into his mind and it honestly made him fill with nothing but rage an betrayal.
He finally stood up with Kailah in his arms and simply walked out of the forest. He found his car was still parked where he had left it and buckled Kailah in before driving off into the city. He made a stop at a friend of his who he sometimes had baby sit for him, Amanda knew her so there wouldn't be any surprise from her as to where Kailah was and who was taking care of her.
He then sped off into the city, now on the hunt for either Amanda or Mason. They weren't going to get away with this scott free....oh no, it wasn't going to be that easy. He came to a abrupt holt once he saw both Amanda and Mason together....holding hands none the less, like they were the best of pals. Jack parked his mustang in-front of the coffee shop that they seem to be heading to and got out.
He hadn't put on a shirt, so his wounds were way out in the open and the humans that were around honestly stare at him with horror and shock that he wasn't in the hospital or something. He just marched right up to Amanda and Mason, standing right where they were walking. If Amanda and Mason thought they had seen him mad, the look on his face right now was nothing but pure anger, rage, betrayal and even a hint of sadness.
So, happy that you burnt my cabin down that much are you.......bet you wish that me and Kailah would just burn alive...don't you!!! He shouted, now marching up to Mason and gripped the witch by the shirt and slammed him into the wall and hard to.
He didn't give two shits less if Amanda was still there or what she did. He would deal with her in a minute, he did look at her though and glared at her. Oh if you do care...which I am assuming you don't, Kailah is okay, she didn't burn alive last night when your little creation here almost burn the cabin to the ground with her inside. He added, daring her now to just try something. Jack had never been appealed to hit a woman, but right now he might make a exception in her case.

It pleased her that Mason was happy, she couldn't explain why, but she needed for him to be happy. So, if he was happy, she was happy, and that alone kept her from doing anything she'd regret later. And it actually felt good to make sure he was nice and hot as well so he wouldn't catch a cold or something just because he didn't have a jacket. Which reminded her it really was a neat trick she needed to teach Mason so he'd have a way to use his new magic and really focus it instead of outbursts he couldn't control.
Amanda had been about to suggest something when Jack showed up. How had she not been aware that he was approaching? Especially with the anger that was radiating from the werewolf. Just the sight of the wolf made all the happy feelings go away, especially when slammed Mason into the wall like that. No one hurt her friend, regardless of what he'd almost done. So what if he'd burned down the cabin? Kailah couldn't get hurt by magic, she wasn't a complete idiot. Of course she wouldn't leave her daughter unprotected at any time.
Naturally when Jack glared at her, she glared right back. "I'm only telling you once, Jack. Let. Mason. Go," she was working really hard on getting the words out without doing anything to the wolf, but she had enough and pulled the werewolf off her friend and stepped between the two. "Don't push me, Jack. Where were you when I needed you? You're never around and you tell me what to do and what not to do?" As her temper rose, the air started moving faster until it was almost whipping at the pair of them.
A smirk played on her face as every shred of good will left in her disappeared and she was left only with the intent to seriously injure the werewolf in front of her. All thoughts of consequences had been washed away. "You've pissed off the wrong witch," she practically snarled at the werewolf, taking a step toward him to make sure Mason was out of harms way. The winds subsided as Amanda regained full control and got ready to hurt Jack if he tried anything else. "You're the monster here Jack, if you hadn't hurt Mason, he wouldn't have lost control."

The peacefulness of the street was interrupted wiping the smile of Mason’s face immediately. Looking up and following everyone else’s stares, he looked on in horror as Jack stormed up to them, the wound on his side much worse than it was meant to be. He felt all the happiness he had moments ago been feeling drain from him in an instant and replaced with guilt and pain. He didn’t even get a chance to try explaining himself or apologising before Jack had the front of his T-shirt in his fists and had pushed him hard back against a wall.
He almost yelped as the wind was knocked from him but held it back. This was exactly the reason he hated Jack so much at times. He always went in with fists flying without fully understanding the full concept of the situation yet. His eyes watered slightly as he struggled to breath for the second time in 24 hours under Jack’s hands. He shook his head at Jacks words, almost feeling destroyed that Jack could ever think he’d want a thing like thing to happen. It had been an accident that he would admit too but he could never wish for Jack or Kailah to be hurt. Pulling at Jacks fingers, he felt his heartbeat quickening and his body trembling as he looked up at Jack with pleading eyes. This isn’t what he wanted.
He could hardly believe that Jack would hurt his feelings yet again and had to bite back the tears as Amanda pulled Jack of him. He dropped to the floor and struggled to calm his nerves, worried that Jack would lash out again or change in to that awful creature like he had before. He could almost understand why Jack had been angered the night before but he had hoped Jack would be willing to talk about it at least. This was too much. Feeling betrayed and hurt, he stumbled over to Amanda and half hid behind her, his eyes on the floor as he couldn’t bring himself to look at jack anymore let alone try to speak to him.
However, When Amanda mentioned that if it wasn’t for Jack lashing out then the fire would have never started; mason looked up with slightly reddened cheeks and looked at Jack, clearly distraught. “I can’t believe you would do that Jack. And for what? Because I shouted? I never meant for any of this to happen… why are you to blind to see that? And don’t take this out on Amanda, she didn’t expect any of this either. And I’m glad you didn’t die in the fire. Now you can carry on living your life knowing you fucked everything up. I hope it was worth it.” The pain in his voice was noticeable as he mumbled his words, trying his hardest to sound unmoved by the whole ordeal.

He was getting so fucking sick of Amanda and Mason's bullshit, there was only so much that the wolf could take before he exploded and this is the aftermath of all the ridiculous antics the two witches played. He had Mason's shirt tightly in his hand, he was one step away before unleashing all his anger and fury on the two witches and didn't give a damn if he hurt either one of them or if they hurt him.
Amanda had to pull Jack off and jumped in-front of Mason, protecting him like he was some little weakling. It was clear in Jack's eyes that Mason could clearly fight his own battles, he almost killed him and Kailah last night.
Fuck you Amanda! I am so fucking sick of your damn ego!!! Don't stand there in-front of him and act like your his damn mother!! He shouted now, practically in her face.
What she said next only made him more pissed off. I was there for you!! You were the one that didn't want to be waited on hand and foot and since you took Kailah's magic away and became some damn power hungry witch you didn't need my help so don't turn this shit on me! This is all your fault! You force whatever magic you gave to him and this is what happened! Kailah could have been hurt! Don't you even see that or care!! He added and kicked a lamp post right out of the ground.
Neither of them had seen Jack this angry before he was on the verge of shifting and attacking them. He turned his angry eyes on Mason, pushing Amanda out of the way and backed Mason into a wall, glaring down at the witch. You know what.......fuck this....I am done with both of you.....keep playing the victim Mason......you may not have meant for this to happened but it did......you caused me so much pain...three years of hell.....and I still took your sorry ass back because I loved you so much.....but now.....now all that pain and suffering I went through was really for nothing.......don't you ever come around me or Kailah again....have fun playing mighty witch with your new friend. He said, just walking off now and got into his car, speeding away.

Amanda was furious with the wolf. The fact that Mason had almost burned down the cabin with both Jack and Kailah inside was nothing compared to how Jack once more went at it ready to throw punches. Couldn't he see that Mason had never meant for it to go that far? Or that she actually did have a problem and it wasn't a big ego or being power hungry; she couldn't stop. She had no way of knowing even how to without falling completely apart. Things had gone too far out of control.
"I don't want you to hurt him for something that wasn't his fault. Ego has nothing to with it." She was keeping her voice cool and level because she didn't feel the need to shout at Jack. If he pushed her too far, she had other ways of getting even. "Before the pair of you got back together, you were never around at night and after you two hooked up again I hardly ever saw you. It has nothing to do with waiting on someone hand and foot, I was supposed to stay with you to be safe but it didn't feel safe being all alone."
Though she knew her words were falling on deaf ears, it was a relief just to finally utter them, to tell Jack why she'd started pushing him away to begin with. It didn't matter if he took any of that with him from this or not, she just felt better having said it. She was doing her best to keep her calm now that the initial surge of rage had passed, because really, the last thing she wanted was to end up hurting Mason further by really hurting Jack. How could he not see that Mason hadn't known what he was doing? Was he really that narrow-minded that he couldn't see that none of this was Mason's fault? Sure, she'd boosted him magic so essentially she was the one to blame, but Jack was the one that had hurt him for yelling to begin with.
When Jack said they never should come around him and Kailah, before storming off, she couldn't help herself: "Jack! You can't do this, please!" But he was already gone. She hadn't realized he would stop her for seeing Kailah over this and it broke her heart. Instead of Mason hiding behind her this time, she turned around and hugged her friend tightly, burying her face in his shoulder to keep from breaking down in the middle of the streets. Instead she wound up clinging to Mason as if her life depended on it while tears ran silently down her cheeks.
They needed a distraction, needed to get back to the mindset of learning, but she only knew how to push it all to the back of Mason's mind, only thing she could do for herself was to hurt someone. And that was the worst idea at the moment. "Make it stop..." she choked out, unwilling to let go of the safety of her only friend at the moment. Trying to calm herself a little she managed to slow her breathing down to normal again. "I know how to make it easier for you, but I can't do the same for myself, you'd never forgive me..."

There wasn’t much else Mason could say as he knew Jack wouldn’t listen anyway. He’d seen Jack angry before but never this much. He remain quiet and couldn’t bring himself to look at either Jack or Amanda as he wiped at the tears he’d been hoping to hold back started to trail down his cheeks. He heard Amanda call out to Jack but knew it was no use. Once Jack’s mind was made, there was no changing it, not when he was in this frame of mind anyway. He stood with his back to them both as he heard Jack’s car drive away. It was hard to believe but Jack seemed to be acting just as irrational as Mason himself used to be which hurt Mason more than anything. He knew Jack and knew he didn’t intentionally hurt people but he’d never pushed the people he was meant to love most away before. This was serious, far more serious than mason had expected it to come too.
Once the sound of Jack’s car had gone he turned back to Amanda and was surprised at the way she behaved. He’d never seen Amanda this emotional before, he’d even began to believe that she didn’t have a heart at times or hid her feelings well but after a moment of awkward back patting, he finally wrapped his own arms around her and held her close. His own tears had stopped, his mind being too preoccupied on the redhead he was holding, and he stayed quiet as he listened to Amanda’s pleas. If only he knew what to do.
He let his hand run over her hair, soothing her as he tried to think of the top of his mind for something to take the other witches’ mind of things. He wasn’t used to this, he didn’t even know how to cope with his own feelings let alone anyone else’s and he couldn’t exactly tell her to run away from it as he wanted to do. And what did she mean he’d never forgive her? He rested his head against Amanda’s as he thought. Surely if she could be happy then whatever she was talking about would be a small price to pay? Still, he knew Amanda and knew she must be talking about something he would highly disagree with if she though he wouldn’t forgive her.
Sighing, he glanced around the street and made to wipe the tears in his own eyes away before pulling himself away from the redhead. “Please don’t cray Amanda… Look, this is Jack. He needs space to think about things… I’m sure of it. Just wait for the whole thing to blow over and I’m sure he’ll calm down enough to let us explain.” He gently reached out and wiped away the tears that sprung from her eyes, taking care not to let his cold fingers startle her. He hated it, hated everything that he could see right now in Amanda’s eyes. He hated the fact she was hurting, he hated the fact it was kind of his fault and hated the fact that Jack had made up his mind about what he thought and was refusing to listen to anyone. That man could be so god damn stubborn sometimes.
Taking Amanda’s hand, he squeezed it gently again, not even caring if Jack could see now. He’d gone too far and after pushing Mason away like that, he could think what he wanted now and Mason wouldn’t care. Though inside he wanted nothing more than to go home and curl up and cry he guided the redhead over to the coffee shop as they had planned and turned to offer her a small smile before they went in. “He’s made up his mind and I’m sorry about that but believe me, he isn’t going to keep Kailah away from you. We’ll figure something out… I promise. But right now, it’s cold and we need to find a way to cheer you up. I’m sure if I fail then I won’t mind you doing what you have to do… just this once. But please, try not to let him get to you, he doesn’t mean to be like that, he’s just… upset I guess and acting irrationally. We all act like that at times... We wouldn’t be in this situation if we didn’t.”

Amanda hated all these feelings that were threatening to break her. If it hadn't been for Mason holding her back and trying to calm her, she would probably have lashed out at someone just to make the feelings go away. This was exactly why she enjoyed being powerful and full of magic as it pushed all these dreadful things to the back of her mind where she didn't have to worry about it anymore. At least not as long as she wasn't all alone with nothing to do.
When Mason pulled away and started talking, she smiled weakly at her friend. She'd try to pull herself together, even if she leaned in to his gentle touch when he wiped away her tears. He was right of course. Jack was just overreacting, it'd blow over. He couldn't keep her away from her daughter, and he couldn't keep blowing up whenever she tried to explain everything to him. If he didn't calm down and let them explain, she might have to make sure he couldn't run off or talk while they were explaining.
Listening to Mason talk made her calm down again, locking everything up to deal with later. She was getting so good at pushing things to the back of her mind, what would one more thing do, really? And Mason was right, they should get back inside as it was far too cold to be outside with no jackets. Sure, it would take a little more to cheer her up again, but at least she was calm and the damn crying had stopped. Instead she was slowly filling up with a much more comfortable rage towards the werewolf for his unruly actions.
"I don't know what I would do without you," she sighed softly and squeezed his hand gently, just wanting to get inside and start focusing all her attention on Mason. Angrily wiping away any stray tears, Amanda opened the door for her friend and went to place their order. There was no better way to keep her mind off what she really wanted to do to feel better out of the way than to bring Mason to a table once their order was placed and figure out how best to go about teaching him. It was either that or hurting someone and she was sure the other witch would rather disapprove of the latter option, even if it would be much more satisfactory at this point.
"The sooner we can get everything under control, the sooner we can show that son of a bitch that he can't just attack people because he's stronger than them," she said, determined to teach Mason as much as humanly possible over the next few days before she needed to boost him again if he wanted more. She quickly realized though that there was no way she could successfully teach him control when she had to force herself to sit still.
"Trust me?" She said quietly and looked at Mason with pleading eyes. "Think warm thoughts, remember the feeling when you made the fire, but don't go that hot."

Mason tried his hardest to give Amanda his most supportive smile though it hurt him to try. It was like he was lying to himself and her, knowing full well that Jack was going to take a lot of persuading to make him see how sorry he really was and even that may not work. The boundaries had been broken and there was nothing Mason was capable of doing to take what he had done back now. Should he even be sorry? He didn’t know but if he shouldn’t be guilty for anything then why did it hurt so much? He couldn’t help but feel it had all been completely his fault now, especially as Kailah had been dragged in to it and Amanda was suffering too.
With a heavy heart, he entered the shop and stood by Amanda’s side as she placed the orders without even thinking about what he really wanted. It didn’t take long until their order had been placed on the counter and Mason was following Amanda to a secluded table on its own and hidden out view with its tall booths. Collapsing on to the seat with a heavy sigh, Mason wrapped his hands around his drink and waited for the warmth to wash through them. He kept trying to think of words to help Amanda by but with his own thoughts doubting anything positive he tried to pull forward, there was nothing.
His negative thoughts were broken by Amanda piping up again, this time with determination pouring from her voice. At least she could hide her sadness fairly well; Mason on the other hand was struggling to believe anything that had happened in the last 24 hours. He was still coming to terms with jack’s reactions and to being pushed away so horribly. Still, desperately pushing everything to the back of his mind, he concentrated on Amanda knowing there would be plenty of time later to think things through and let them get the best of him.
Listening to Amanda, he nodded his head hesitantly at her request. How could he not trust her when she was all he had now? He needed someone close he could rely on and there was no point that person being Amanda if he didn’t trust her. Besides, how could he say no when she looked at him like that. Feeling his lips twitch at the said as he listened to her instructions, he let go of his coffee cup and looked at his hands, looking at them as though they weren’t even his. “Amanda… I honestly don’t know how I did it. I didn’t mean to… It just happened. He wouldn’t let go and I… I thought he was going to kill me and I had no other choice. It was like… I could feel something force its way through me but I couldn’t stop it…”
He kept his eyes on his hands and the look on his face turned to that of hatred at them. Placing his hands palm down on the table, he closed his eyes for a moment and took a few deep breathes to calm himself as he felt the anger coming back as the memory flashed through his mind. Seconds later, he felt his hands heating up only to have to pull them away quickly as the table started to smoke slightly. Looking at Amanda, he shrugged his shoulder and held a guilty look as he held his palms out to Amanda. “See. It only happens when it wants too. I think there is something wrong with my hands. They are stupid.” He said bluntly with a frown before bringing them back to his face to study them with furrowed eyebrows. Trying again, he imagined himself tucked up beneath the sheets of Jack’s old king sized bed and thought about the times he used to pretend he was lost under them just so he could stay in the warm comfort they gave him. He almost yelped when he saw the tiniest of fires; no bigger than a penny appear before disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. His eyes shot back to Amanda as he grinned in delight and awe. “Did you see that? I did it… I made a fire and I didn’t need my lighter! Did you see?”

During the past few months, ever since she'd started collecting bits and pieces of magic, she'd had to learn to put things in perspective. She'd learned to move past the dread and despair that filled her whenever she thought of the dangerous world they were raising her daughter in. Especially when she and Jack had slipped further apart and she'd started to do silly things to feel alive again. She did what she had to do to feel good, anything else wasn't worth dwelling on. Most days she needed to use magic to feel good, so she had. Life was far too short to dwell on the negatives.
The redhead listened to her friend when he explained about the fire. She watched as he was focusing until the table started smoking slightly. Right, that was actually quite a good point. He needed to let go of the rage that fueled it to be able to control it. It was a learning process though, and she couldn't tell him to be clam when she was aching to hurt someone herself.
"You'll get it, just try to relax," she smiled before taking a good swallow of that awfully bitter coffee. It certainly beat falling asleep and dreaming about whatever Jack had accused her of. Shrugging slightly, she decided to throw all thoughts of the werewolf and her daughter away for the time being and focus on her friend. After all, he wouldn't be in this situation if it wasn't for her so she had a responsibility to make sure he mastered it.
Amanda couldn't help but practically squeal in excitement and cover her mouth to muffle the sound immediately. He'd actually done it, for however briefly, and she was so proud. "I knew you could do it," she said with a grin, just as excited as he was over the tiny, short lived flame. "You'll be quite the master of fire in no time if you pick up everything this easily," she chuckled and nudged him teasingly in the side. "Do it again," she said with an excited giggle. Yeah, this was much better than hurting anyone.
It really was a short step from creating a flame to learn how to keep warm. He might even be able to keep some of the things he learned after her boost wore off if he really learned it, but she didn't want to get ahead. Right now was all that mattered. "Try doing it again without actually creating the flame, and don't worry about it getting out of hand, that's what I'm here for," she grinned slightly at him. If he accidentally started a fire, she would put it out in an instant. Surely he should have some benefits from hanging out with her, right? Like not worrying about the consequences of his learning.

The giggle that left Mason was almost enough to make anyone think that he was perfectly happy right now and not a person on the verge of breaking down as he felt he was. Amanda’s reaction plus the fact he had managed to produce a flame with no source had him leaning back in his chair with a huge grin across his face with little effort. He actually did something right for once and practically on his first try. A feeling of overwhelming smugness filled him as he examined his palms with curiosity. Listening to Amanda’s words made him blush some, the rosy colour in his cheeks warming his face as he shook his head at her. “I’m sure I’ll never be a master Amanda but thanks.”
He turned his attention back to his hands and listened carefully to what Amanda went on to say, confused as to how he was meant to do it again but not cause a flame. For a few minutes, he tried in vain but only small fires burst from his palms when he tried. Scowling, he took his cup and sipped at the tar like drink only now remembering he hadn’t put the sugar in. However, when he placed the cup back on the table, scorch marks covered its side and mason shot Amanda a quick look as though to apologise.
He had to stop getting wound up so easily. If he wanted this to work then that was the only choice he had. He had to control it and stop letting himself and other people put him down. What Amanda was offering him, right now, could help him forget everything so much easier rather than living every day in regret and guilt. Without jack, it was the only option he had. If he didn’t have this, who knew what he would do. He couldn’t handle emotions and couldn’t stand the ones Jack had left him feeling. Deciding it best to forget everything and walk way, act like it had never happened; he used the prospect of being able to smile again in the near future with ease to push the warmth through his body.
It took a while but eventually Mason reached out and placed his palm against Amanda’s cheek, the faintest warm glow emitting from them. So it wasn’t radiating but it was something. “So I have a lot to learn yet but at least we know it’s possible and I’m not just a lost cause.” He said with a small chuckle as he picked three sugars from the little pot in the middle and tore the packet open. Watching the white grains fall in to his drink he sighed as he pushed everything aside that wanted to bother him and closed them away, locking them up and placing then somewhere he wouldn’t be tempted to think about them as he realised he had to think about the future now and not the past.

Mason was far too humble and self-doubting about his abilities. If her friend wouldn't have faith in himself, she would. She would carry the torch for both of them so to speak, which wouldn't be too hard considering Mason was the only one she had to worry about. Maybe he'd even let her stay for a few days to keep her under control. If not she could always just crash at the store or at her parents' for a while as she didn't want to go home.
Amanda watched as Mason tried to do it again and couldn't help but chuckle some when he made the scorch marks on the cup. It really was amusing to watch him try, especially since she knew he'd get it eventually. As soon as he stopped being so wound up. And just as she was about to offer another piece of advice, she felt his warm hand against her cheek and she got all excited again.
"See? Together we can do anything," she grinned at her friend and nudged him playfully in his side. He'd made her forget all her worries again. Maybe that was why she was so intent on teaching the other witch how to use his new powers, since she knew he'd make her feel better without having to resort to dark magic or hurting people. Or anything that would hurt her once she had to give her magic away.
"Can I stay with you for a few days? Just to really get a jump start on the learning process?" Of course that wasn't the entire reason, but she wanted to stay positive. "I also don't want to be alone," she said with a slight smile. She couldn't hide everything from Mason, in fact, she wanted to hide as little as possible from her friend now that she only had him to focus on. She needed him to trust her, and he couldn't trust her if she kept things from him. Actually, she was terrified of being alone at the moment, but she wouldn't word her fears or let them show, she wasn't that weak.
So they stayed and talked for a little while longer, not really talking about anything important until it was time to get her things from the shop. She needed a book and her jacket, and the few things she kept there for emergencies, but if she could avoid going to her apartment for a few days, she'd be a very happy woman.

Mason giggled as Amanda nudged him, his grin only widening as he saw the worry fading from her face and feeling his disappearing to as he went back to holding his drink. Her words almost overwhelmed him with happiness, feeling once more like he had someone to call close and someone he could take on all his problems with and still come out with his head held high. He smiled at Amanda gratefully, not just for being a good friend but also for giving him the opportunity, even if there had been a price to pay.
Taking a sip of his drink, he scolded his lips and tongue slightly making him yelp as quietly as he could before trying to hide behind his hand and pretend that hadn’t just happened. Luckily, Amanda faced him with a question that caused his cheeks to warm. She was actually choosing him as company? Mason couldn’t have been happier, so much so that the grin across his face actually ached as he looked at her with excitement flashing in his eyes. “Of course you can! I mean, you’re welcome any time you want. My sister is away so you can have her room, I’m sure she won’t mind. Umm, and even if she does you can have my bed, I’ll sleep on the spare mattress, its fine. But, on one condition… you make sure I get home and tucked up in one piece after a long night out. Ok? And, well I’ll obviously do the same for you… and cook you breakfast and tea. I think that is a fair deal.”
He chuckled as any signs of unhappiness drained from him and was replaced by hope and happiness. There was a chance to be happy again somewhere and until then, who needed anyone else when you had friends like Amanda? Mason couldn’t keep the smile of his face as they talked and caught up on a lot they had missed out from the last few months whilst mason had been clinging to Jack. He’d missed the carefree talking and the way she made him grin with her opinions and thoughts. She truly was one of a kind and Mason knew he would never take her for granted, not like he had Jack.
