When the baby started reaching for her and Jack handed her over, Amanda couldn't help but smile slightly at the pair of them. "See? Nothing to fuss about, sweetheart. Mommy's right here," she mused and kissed her cheek. Normally it was the other way around, she always seemed to want to go to Jack whenever Amanda was holding her.
By the time they reached the fox, Kaila was not only whimpering because she wasn't let down to see him, she was trying to squirm out of her arms. "Always so impatient.." she chuckled and crouched down holding the baby up to the glass. It didn't take long before she was splaying her tiny hands against the glass, wanting to pet the fox now rubbing his head against the glass as if she could pet him.
"Jack, this isn't healthy. People are gonna start to notice something isn't normal about all this." She kept her voice down, knowing the werewolf could hear her as she smiled slightly at a pair of bystanders that thought it was utterly adorable that the baby got yet another animal to act all tame and like a pet.

He could understand Amanda's worry. But humans thought when animals reacted this way towards a young child or a infant, that it was nothing more than cute. So he wasn't really worried about it all to much, just watching as the fox rubbed his head against the glass wall.
Kailah absolutely adored the pretty white fox and whimpered in protest when Jack picked her up again. I know you want to play with the fox baby. He said, holding her as she started to cry some in protest.
I wouldn't worry about it to much, humans always think that when animals act those way towards a child that its usually innocent and very cute....see... He pointed out at the sight of a group of humans with their own kids were smiling and giggling to one another over Kailah and the fox.

Amanda was almost relieved when Jack picked up Kailah again, not because she didn't enjoy holding their daughter, but because she felt safer when Jack had her. That way she was free to keep an eye out for whatever danger could possibly be lurking. OK, so maybe she was a bit paranoid when it came to Kailah, but the baby wanted to have everything her way, all the time, even with animals. It was cute sure, but it wasn't normal.
"I wasn't worried about the humans, Jack," she muttered and frowned slightly at the people giggling and smiling like that. Had they never seen the zoo animals enchanted by an infant before? Though, they most likely hadn't. The whimper that escaped Kailah when she couldn't play with the fox anymore was cute though, she had to admit.
"When we get home, you can play with Angel all you want. I'm sure she'll let you hug her," she chuckled slightly. Sure, the kid was a bit young to truly understand what was being said, but it seemed the word Angel made her stop whimpering, so clearly she understood that much. "You're gonna grow up to be just as stubborn as your parents, aren't you?" she chuckled and shook her head slightly.

The what exactly are you worried about? He asked. Was she worried that there was someone watching them? He looked around, his senses on high alert now but the only beings that were among them were human and animal of course. They were the only gifted beings at the park and no one knew the difference.
Gifted usually don't come to the zoo, that was more of a human and child thing to do.
Kailah stopped whimpering at hearing the word Angel and just started sucking on her little fist. Knowing her she is going to be stubborn, fiery, have a temper and be just spoiled rotten. He said and smiled.

When asked liked that, she knew that she was probably just overreacting. She didn't like all the attention Kailah was drawing to them mainly because she never enjoyed attention if she wasn't asking for it to begin with. And she definitely didn't enjoy her daughter getting that much attention from strangers for doing what came natural to her.
"Let's just say it's a good thing she doesn't have her magic anymore, or the humans would be reason to worry as well," she muttered slightly and shook her head. "There could be hunters here Jack, suspecting something, and I swear, if one even thinks about hurting her that's the last though they'll ever have." Her mood had clearly darkened again, despite the adorable infant. Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder if Kailah was better off with Jack.
"Let's hope she didn't just get our bad traits, huh?" she chuckled slightly, trying to lighten up a bit again. It was hard, balancing her need to go to extremes to keep her daughter and Jack safe and being kind and loving with them both.

Jack didn't sense any hunters in the zoo, but that didn't always lower his guard when it came to Kailah. Hunters could easily just have walked in and he hadn't picked up on them yet. It was a good idea now that Kailah didn't have any witch powers, she was already showing her wolf like heritage and that enough could cause some suspecion if they weren't careful.
I know I am keeping watch for any hunters.....if one of them even thinks of hurting her.... He whispered the last part rather darkly and almost growled in his throat from the thought.
Kailah picked up on her parents negative mood and started to make noises, looking at both of them and patted Jack's cheek as if to calm him down. He smiled at his daughter and kissed her cheek. It's okay little one.... He said.
A smile was brought to his face even more at Amanda's words. Kailah would more likely inheriate both their good and bad traits, which would make her a exceptional werewolf.

It was probably for the best that they hadn't sense any hunters in the park that day, she didn't know about Jack, but she was ready to do some harm if she even suspected someone was going to hurt Kaila. Really drag it out, make the passing absolutely horrible for said monster. Heck, she wasn't sure she wanted Jack to see exactly what it was she was capable of at the moment.
The moment Kailah started fussing about her parents' dark mood, she tried lighting up again for the baby's sake, but her mood was a far cry from going back up. Heck, she wasn't sure if she was able to return her mood to the carefree place she'd been a moment ago before she'd started worrying about the attention they were attracting.
The baby truly was a gift with how she was trying to cheer them up again. "It'll be alright," she sighed softly, not wanting to upset her further. "Let's move to the next set of animals," she smiled while she tried to keep her tone lighter for all of their sake.

Jack decided to not be dark and moody, not while holding Kailah as it seem she cane pick up easily on their emotions and if effects her greatly. He just nodded in agreement to what Amanda had said and looked at the map while holding Kailah.
Lets go down there and see the polar bears. He said, walking down the pathway that led to some stairs.
They were in a underground area and to their left was a huge glass window. The water was a ice blue color and sure enough, a huge white polar bear was swimming around. Kailah wanted to get closer of course and whimpered when Jack didn't walk over to the window fast enough.
Kailah stared at the polar bear who now placed his massive paw against the glass to kick off and darted under the water even deeper. He swan around, finally stopping back at the glass again and looked at the odd family.

Amanda could honestly say she was aching to do some magic again now. This was definitely not the time or the place to be doing magic. Not only would Jack most likely not approve, but once Kailah caught onto what was going on, she tended to shriek her little heart out for attention. Unless of course the magic was used to entertain her, then it was fine.
She'd already disappeared on them once, it was supposed to be a family thing, so she better not go away to do something stupid like hunt down a fix, outlet or more books. For one, she couldn't afford a hunter getting on her trail, and secondly she was running out of secret hiding places for stuff like that. The books she got mainly dealt with things that could help Kailah anyway, but it still was best to keep it a secret. Especially since some of the books were more into some darker spells and stuff and Jack surely wouldn't like knowing about that.
"At least this explains why she's so fond of being with you Jack. Why every time she fusses and I give her to you, she quiets down immediately. She must sense you're two of a kind that way." It was fascinating to watch the baby get all the animals' attention like that, but she was growing weary of people staring.

He just smiled at what Amanda said and it honestly didn't surprise him all that much. When he was a child and his pack members have children who possessed the werewolf gene, they seem to be fond and got along with other animals quite well. Maybe it was some trait that natural born werewolves go through.
He was alittle worried to about all the stares and attention that Kailah was getting from the humans. He knew that the humans thought it was simply adorable, but there was always that one human that could spot something in the crowd that wasn't quite right.
Well that doesn't surprise me to be honest, back in Romanian, natural born werewolf children would often attract other animals attention and they could connect and get along with animals better than normal children could...plus its a Stone heritage thing. He admitted.

Amanda was surprised to learn that werewolf children often attracted other animals. At least that would explain why their daughter, with her half witch side as well was extremely in tune with other animals. Most witches were nature's servants and therefore had a way with living things, so maybe their daughter would do well with all sorts of things when she got old enough.
She'd been about to reply to his statement about the heritage thing when she had to take a step back. She felt like she'd just been given an ice cold shower and she had to get out of there. "Jack, I had fun today, but I have to go. I'm sorry, but some thing's wrong at the shop." She kissed Kailah's cheek and stroked her hair lovingly before she returned her attention to Jack. Placing a soft kiss on his cheek, she couldn't help but speak her mind: "I'm sorry about before."

When she announced that she had to go, he wanted to protest. This was suppose to be a family like outing, it wasn't much of a family like outing if she just up and left. He blinked his eyes, wondering if that was really what was going on or did he say something to upset her?
She kissed his cheek, apologizing for what had happened earlier before just walking away. He stood there, holding Kailah who looked to her father and made a soft sound before starting to cry now. She didn't want Amanda to leave either and Jack was now stuck with a screaming infant.
Shhh its okay.... He whispered softly and sigh.

It really wasn't her idea of fun that she had to go. It wasn't like she'd planned on leaving the pair early, but whenever her magic alarm went off, she had to go see what it was all about. She had other responsibilities as well and Jack was more than capable of taking care of Kailah and the zoo.
She caught wind of the baby crying as she walked away and couldn't resist sending a soft gust of wind to ruffle her hair to let her know her mommy loved her before she was gone in the crowd. The alarm had best be important, or she would seriously hurt someone. She'd looked forward to spending they day with her family, but she wasn't just gonna let this pass either.
Amanda would find a way to make it up to them.
