Jack had never been to the zoo, he had never even thought about going to the zoo until today. He had Kailah dress up since it was already starting to become fall. The zoo still remained open though, it wasn't getting to cold for all the animals yet.

He wasn't good at putting bows and stuff like that in her hair, so he would just leave that up to Amanda if she wanted to have Kailah accessorize. Kailah had already sprouted a full head of auburn color hair, she had Jack's eyes though as she looked up at him, giggling and smiling when he made a funny face at her.

He gently picked her up, kissing her cheek and strapped her into the car seat. Now it's time to go and get mommy so we can go to the zoo. He said, picking up the seat and a stroller, going next door to Amanda's apartment. He knocked on the door, not wanting to just barge on in. Kailah was staring at the door, making sounds and wiggled her arms around to catch one of her toys that hung from the handle and put it in her mouth.

Amanda had come in late again the night before. She'd restocked all the shelves in her store with magic and made sure the new guy was able to take care of the art supply bit by himself that day so she could go out with Kaila and Jack. After stocking the shelves, she'd been out drinking and just acting her age for once, except of course for the passed out vampire now in her bed.

She honestly didn't care if Jack could still smell the vampire all over her after she'd showered and gotten dressed as it was none of his business. She hadn't been watching their daughter, so she was allowed to bring who she wanted home with her and that was the end of that. Scribbling down a note, the witch left it on her pillow for the vampire to find when he was good to go and got ready herself.

Of course, her house guest started stirring right when there was a knock on the door and Amanda cursed silently. After telling the guy he could leave whenever after she'd left and why, she added the last finishing touches on her make-up for the day and opened the door. Smiling slightly at Jack, she slipped on her jacket and shoes and closed the door behind her.

"Ready?" She smiled at him innocently.

The smell of sex and vampire hit him like a tone of bricks. Did she really invite a vampire over....and had sex with him? He hoped that she wasn't doing that with Kailah in the house. He didn't really like it, but he said nothing as of right now when she stepped out, closing the door behind her.

Yeah. He said simply and walked down the stairs with her behind him.

Once they came to his mustang, he buckled Kailah in the back seat while Amanda got in the front. He was somewhat quite on the way to the zoo, it didn't sit over to well with him that Amanda was bringing strangers like that to her house, if she wanted to fuck around then she could go somewhere else, not be around her daughter while it was happening. God forbid one of those vampires became blood thirsty and there innocent little Kailah was just sitting, ready for the taking.

It was pretty obvious Jack didn't enjoy the vampire in her apartment. He seemed almost angry at her, but it was none of his business so she didn't really care that much how it affected him. She hadn't said anything when he'd come home at all hours while she was pregnant, so it was wise of him not to make a comment on the situation.

Amanda followed Jack to the car and got in the front after watching Jack buckle their daughter in. The drive was silent and wanted to say something but didn't want Jack to lose his temper over the truth. Before they got into the parking space, she turned to Jack and broke the silence. "What I do when I don't have Kailah is none of your business Jack, so please stop sulking."

Feeling done with the subject of who she brought home and why, Amanda was quick to get out of the car once it was parked and unbuckle Kailah. "Daddy got you all dressed up like a little princess," she cooed and lifted the baby out of the car seat. "Such a pretty princess." She looked up at Jack and smiled proudly. This was usually the case these days; she could be mean and hurtful to people, but the moment her baby girl was back in her arms, she would be all gooey.

He was trying not to loose his temper over the whole thing. It just bothered him some that her choice was a vampire and it worried him that she had done this while Kailah was home with her. He wasn't going to try to jump to any conclusions, he wanted to be nice to his baby mama especially in-front of Kailah.

Once they parked though, Amanda told him to stop sulking and said that it wasn't any of his business. In a way she was right, it wasn't.....but when it came to who Amanda hung around with was his business when it came to Kailah and that included her lovers.

Before he could even say anything else, she had Kailah in her arms and smiled proudly. It is my business if they are around Kailah...you know how I feel about vampires, Amanda. He replied and frowned.

Amanda had thought they were done with the subject as she didn't really like to fight with Jack, but apparently he had more to say about the matter. He really thought she'd bring vampires around their baby? That she could be so irresponsible and careless? It was probably a good thing that she was holding their daughter at the moment as she was able to keep from losing her temper.

"No Jack, it isn't any of your business. You should know I would never let them around our daughter, I don't even let your pack around her. Just drop it, I don't want to fight," she said, and frowned when Kaila started to fuzz. Of course she had to start fuzzing now that they were arguing, so she focused instead on calming her again. It took some effort but she got there in the end. "Besides, I can handle myself Jack, don't worry so much." 

The redhead wasn't sure whether or not Jack knew just how well she could handle herself these days, but she wasn't prepared to learn the truth, so she didn't push her luck. "Someone's ready to see the animals," she smiled slightly at the werewolf as if nothing had happened. It was best just to put it behind them and show Kaila a good time, or Jack would find out just how much she'd changed over the past few months and that could possibly be worse than him finding her with a vampire in her apartment.

Amanda had changed, that much was for certain. She used to be...well...nice, but since she absorbed Kailah's power, she seem to be on the power hungry side. Course she never seen to show any animosity towards Kailah so that was good....and she was somewhat nice to Jack, course she had pushed his buttons a few times and it took alot for him not to loose his temper.

The fact that she thinks that it wasn't any of his business who Amanda hung around only made him more piss off. It was his damn business, if they hung around her then surely they must have met Kailah one way or another, it wasn't like his daughter lived at his house, she was mainly over at Amanda's most of the time since he became a council member and ran a pack.

It was hard to put on any kind of happy face, but he just smiled at Kailah and paid for their tickets. He of course put on a happy face with Kailah, but every time he looked at Amanda he almost scowled.

Amanda really didn't like being mean to Jack, but some times he just made her so angry she wanted to use her powers against him. The fact that he thought for a moment that she would let a vampire near her daughter, especially if she thought said vampire was dangerous, was beyond her. Heck, she wouldn't even bring the vampire home if she thought it was a danger to her daughter or even herself.

Maybe she should just wander off for a bit and let the wolf cool down? She could certainly use a moment to forget he ever thought he had a say in her choice of lovers. Frowning slightly at Jack, she pulled out a hair clip from her pocket and pushed Kaila's beautiful auburn bangs away from her face and fastened the clip. It was all cute with a butterfly and everything. "Now that's much better, isn't it?" she said, focusing all her intent on making sure their daughter was happy.

"Where to first?" she smiled at Jack, deciding to do her very best to be nice and not snap at him, at least while they were out in public with their daughter.

Human of course smiled and gawked at Kailah, complimenting on how pretty and cute she was. He just smiled and said thanks, kissing Kailah's cheek and got her pacifier for her. He looked to Amanda when she asked where to first. He got out the map of the zoo, the African wildlife park was on the very end of the zoo and the Crocodiles were just down the walkway from here.

Might as well go in order. He said and looked at the sign that said Crocodile highway. Of course their were other animals besides Crocodiles; their were cougars, alligators, snakes, turtles and other swampy like animals.

He gently picked Kailah up, letting her look at one of the crocs that was doozing off in the sunlight. She stared at him, squealing some when it moved and giggled. He smiled as he held her, pointing out another one that was swimming in the water.

It was amazing to see how people gawked at the baby. Amanda had never understood people's fascination with babies until she'd had her own, and she still didn't think other babies were so cute she just had to comment on it. She absolutely loved Kaila to death, but she wasn't planning on ever having another child, that was for sure.

The redhead smiled slightly when they were watching the crocs at how the baby would just squeal with joy when the animal moved. Making sure no one was watching, Amanda made water splash over the doozing animal so it moved again much to Kaila's delight. "It was a great idea to bring her here, Jack. It seems she's really enjoying it so far." Of course, so far only included the crocodiles, but she had stopped fuzzing the moment the two of them had decided to be civilized and was now just squealing with joy whenever the animal moved.

"I can't wait to show her the cats," she grinned at Jack, acting her age and all carefree again.

Kailah was enjoying herself and that was what mattered. He smiled as his daughter enjoyed the animals, keepin her eyes on the one that was swimming around in the water. It was a good thing that they had distance from the animals, he watched as the dozing crocodile was splashed and moved some, looking around in wonder what was going on. He readjusted kailah now so she was resting on his hip.

"Come on baby lets go look at the cats." He said. As he walked away, she started fussing again and wanted to go back to the crocs but as soon as she saw the cougar, she wanted down. He let her press her hands and face o the glass as the cougar walked up to her.

They stared at one another for a moment while he took a picture of it and made sure she didn't fall over or anything. He smiled at the sight when the cougar licked the glass and walked off. "That was pretty cool." He said and picked kailah up.

Amanda had sorta known that Kailah would love the cats. After moving out from Jack's, her cat Angel had returned from staying with Amber and the cat and the baby played well together. It was still nice to watch her press her little hands against the glass like that and how they interacted.

"She has a way with animals," she giggled slightly at Jack's reaction to the whole thing. It was nice that he was taking pictures and stuff though. It was true that Kailah had a way with animals, she wasn't even six months old and she got her way with most things. She would be a nightmare once she reached her teens at this rate.

The redhead decided to keep a bit of a distance from Jack and the baby and just admire the sight of the two of them together. She wasn't too far away, but she thought it was best not to be too close to the pair as she might just be tempted to use her magic again to entertain Kailah and sooner or later Jack might catch on. The last thing she wanted was for him to get on her case for using too much magic.

Tapping Jack's shoulder she smiled slightly at him. "I'll find you in a moment, ok?" With that she wandered toward one of the buildings that sold foods. Finding something for herself to chew on while she kept her distance was easy enough, finding something to drink for the adults as well, though she wasn't sure whether or not Jack actually drank coke. And last but not least, she found a stuffed cougar for Kailah. Smiling slightly at the clerk since she was trying to keep a lid on everything she went back to look for the two. Handing Jack the soda bottle, she gave Kailah the stuffed animal, and couldn't help but chuckle slightly when the first thing the baby did was put one of the ears in her mouth.

It didn't surprise him that she would have a way with animals. Most werewolves did get along better with other creatures, and of course with Kailah being part witch maybe helped alot to. He smiled at his daughter who just gripped a piece of his long, black hair and tugged on it.

He watched Amanda disappeared into the crowd, wondering where she was going but decided to just spend some alone time with Kailah now. He took her over to the other big cats, kneeling down with her in-front of the glass to a black panther who strolled right on up to them.

It was amazing that Kailah was this good with animals, even he wasn't this interactive or had good responses when he was little. You like him? He asked Kailah who smiled, pressing her little hand against the glass and patted the glass for the panthers attention.

Course people around them were taking pictures and even recording, thinking it was adorable how a man-eating panther would react so innocently to a infant. He finally picked her up once Amanda came back and took the soda, watching Kailah put one of the ears of her new stuff animal into her mouth. He chuckled some and took a sip of the drink before saying thanks to Amanda.

A woman gasped some, watching in slight shock now when Kailah had bitten a hole in the stuff animals ear. He quickly had to take the toy away from her, getting some stuffing out from her mouth and shook his head. She's already starting..... He said and shook his head.

It really was fascinating how the werewolf side of her let her how that much of a way with animals. Sure, being part witch probably helped with that, even if she didn't have her magic at the moment. So far the baby didn't seem to miss anything, and even if she did, she'd be too young to say so.

Amanda sighed when Jack pulled the stuffed animal away from the baby because she'd bitten a whole in it. Sure, Kailah was absolutely adorable when she giggled so innocently after Jack had pulled some stuffing from her mouth. "Hopefully she won't fuzz because of it," she muttered quietly. The last thing she needed was a fuzzing baby keeping her up all night. She was trying to work for a living after all, and add to that her obsession with books, and she couldn't take sleepless nights.

Kailah didn't seem to mind that the toy was taken from her, only giggling and pulling on Jacks hair and extended her arms out for Amanda. He handed Kailah to her once the baby started to get alittle fussy and took another sip of his coke.

He looked at the map again. How about we go to the Antarctica exhibit. He suggested, turning the stroller around and led the way.

The first animal that he spotted was a Antarctica fox who was busy playing with a ball and trotted over to them as soon as they walked up, tilting his white head at the werewolf, witch and their child. Kailah loved him, she tried to reach out for him and whimpered when she wasn't let down to see him. The fox sat down, scratching his ear and made a cute sound at her.
