Personality:
Druitt is curious like a cat when something has caught her interest that she doesn't quite understand or know fully. To learn what she wants to know, she's not above using guile and subterfuge to reach it. To this end she has even established a human identity which she uses when she wants to avoid suspicion.

Insolence and disobedience is rarely tolerated and she's not above retribution, even towards her peers. She didn't get to where she is by being kind and gentle with people. She's also quite the control freak and as such she takes great pleasure in punishing people she can't control.

If Arya feels comfortable enough around you, she can slip into a carefree state of mind and just go wherever the moment takes her, but she needs to be comfortable enough to let go of her need to control everything. In these fleeting moments, she allows herself to let go of the control and just enjoy herself.

Science. After becoming a vampire, before marrying a royal, she studied science and learned a lot about vampires as a race out of pure curiosity.

History:
Arya was the last to be born into a family of nine kids. They weren't all planned and her family already had little money by the time she was born. Her parents did their best to love all their kids equally, but their oldest daughter was soon charged with raising the younger ones as the adults needed to work to earn enough money for their living.

The oldest of the nine was always very kind to Arya and cared for her when she had bad dreams, she was also the one to teach her what needed to be done around the house to keep their father happy. It was with great sorrow that she had to leave her brothers and sisters when her father brokered a deal with a pleasure house. They got Arya, her family got money to feed the household a little while longer.

She was 11 at the time, the perfect age to clean rooms and learn slowly. The other courtesans taught her what kind of behavior was expected of her when she was mature and slowly eased her into the concept of selling her body to please men. They taught her all the basics of love-making and how to please a man, even made her sit in with them occasionally when they had clients in order to learn exactly how to behave.

After her first period she was deemed ready to start working and was given to the highest bidder as her first client. It wasn't so rare for virgins to go for a higher market price as they pleased their first client. She didn't really enjoy it at all, but she'd learned well enough to do her job. After all, she was only fifteen at the time.

Arya had worked at the pleasure house in Antioch for four years by the time Marcus became a regular client. He would buy her out for days at a time, dress her up as a noble lady and treat her nicely. He even asked on multiple occasions if she enjoyed her work and if she liked him. Both questions were always answered with a yes, though she was lying about enjoying her work.

One day he managed to get the truth out of her by the use of mind tricks and shortly after he'd bought her free and taken her to a desolate mansion to teach her. He started slowly with simple math and the alphabet, moving on to teaching her how to read and write as well as present herself to him at meal times so he could feed off of her.

At first she found that working with Marcus wasn't much different than working for clients, but her mind changed quickly. Not only did he teach her to read, but also gave her a great appreciation for literature and soon she read just as well when it came to Latin as she did with Greek. He also showed her how pleasurable sex could be with an experienced partner.

They had a very strange relationship, but the promise of everlasting life was given to her the moment she started showing progress. Once he was satisfied that she could relinquish all forms of control to him, he taught her how to have that same control over others so she would be prepared for the next step of her life.

Both as a 21th birthday present and a graduation gift, she was turned. It took a while to get adjusted, but she was taught what to do and what not to do and her maker supplied her with a beautiful daylight bracelet. She really liked Marcus and she allowed herself to care for him and do what he needed of her. It didn't take too long before she was given assignments and books to read, things to learn.

Six centuries passed where Marcus would keep her busy either learning things or traveling with her and she would be prepared for a lot of things. She really was enjoying herself far too much to notice how the time went by and before she knew what hit her, Marcus brought home a pet and she got a 'brother'. She'd always thought she was enough for him, but apparently that wasn't the case and she got upset.

Not long after her brother joined their household, Marcus introduced her to her future husband. A vampire nonetheless so she'd be bound to him forever. The two got along great up until after the wedding. The English Lord that he was, James was a proper gentleman for the first year or so, sharing everything together. They shared pets, humans lovers and their thoughts with each other. The were even slowly making a business together. Until he told her he wanted to see other people. Still caring for her husband, Arya didn't want to jeopardize a possible fortune and they made arrangements to make it work with an open marriage.

They traveled to the new world together and settled. They kept their estate together and bedded whomever they wanted until Arya was swept away with by other supernaturals to found a town safe from the hunters. At this point her husband had turned one of his lovers and they'd agreed to just share everything anyway, so she figured she'd stake her claim on a peace of land with other supernaturals. When time came to create a council she was the oldest vampire there, so the responsibility fell to her to make sure they were all kept in line.

She hasn't always been an active member of the council, taking a sabbatical every few decades where her husband, James sits in her place.
