Finnley's mom smiled kindly at the girl. She liked that her son was making friends quickly, finding this girl to be nice enough. She opened the door further, looking a little surprised that her son would bail on plans. "That's rather strange of him, he could have just for gotten a little frustrated since he can't understand all the time, it happened all the time when he was little. His room is right down there, let me know if you need anything dear?"
His mother was clearly an overly kind person, finding truth in people more than she really should. Finnley on the other hand was finally starting to clam down in his sleep, managing to somehow get untangled and sleep like a normal human being under his blankets. He was completely unaware that his mom was sending the one that terrified him down the stairs and to his room.

Gale decided that she liked this woman. She was kind and she invited her in like that, no further questions. Smiling at her, Amelita decided it was only the proper thing to do to introduce herself after being invited in like that. "I'm Amelita, but most people call me Gale," she said brightly and extended her hand for the woman to shake. Normally she wouldn't shake hands with people, but it seemed rude not to when it came to humans.
"Are you sure he won't mind me just dropping by like this?" she asked a bit anxiously as she looked to the direction she'd gestured for his room. She was quiet though when she finally ventured down the stairs and found the human sleeping. She really didn't want to startle him or wake him, but she kind of had to if she was going to explain.
Walking over to Finnley, she carefully laid her hand on his arm and tried waking him gently. She couldn't really talk to him until he was awake and watching her anyway.

Finnley's mom seemed happy to have Gale in the house, seeming all smiles since it looked to be her son's first friend out here. "It's fine Gale, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you." She then walked off to another end of the house, going up the stairs to keep unpacking things.
Finnley was sound asleep when Gale walked in, his back facing the vampire. He was nearly snoring at this point when he was touched and pushed a little to wake up. He was sluggish as he looked disturbed that whomever it was had cold hands. He was fingerspelling something as he rolled over, only to startle awake at seeing it was Gale. He couldn't help to swing at her with one arm while scrambling to his feet, his voice loud and clearly a bit panicked. "The hell are you doing in my house?!"

The moment Finnley startled awake, Gale realized she would much rather have spent time with his mother as at least the woman was kind and gentle. It might just be that she didn't know what Gale truly was, but the vampiress liked what she'd seen of the family so far. They had both been very kind until she showed Finnley without preparing him at all.
Looking at the boy now, she tried her best to use her compulsion on him. "Please don't panic, I'm not going to hurt you," and it was the truth. She wasn't going to hurt Finnley, she never wanted to hurt anyone really. It was times like this that she wished she'd just died rather than complete the transition.
"I came to apologize for freaking you out, it was the only way to make you believe me." Taking a few steps back, she gave Finnley some space before she continued. "I wanted a friend who could understand and it was selfish of me, I'm sorry."

Finnley was on his feet now, standing as if he was about to start a kickboxing match. He didn't trust this girl at all and wanted her gone. She was a monster of some kind and if she had plans to kill or eat him or something strange, he was at least gonna put up a fight. He made her stay away by stepping back a few feet, clearly ready to kick or punch her jaw in if she tried to touch him. He barely read her lips, not trusting her in the slightest. He wanted to keep her far away as she kept explaining herself. "A friend? You tried to scare me with fucking fangs and black eyes! Just what kind of person does that?! What are you even and how in the hell am I supposed to know you won't try to kill or eat me or something crazy like that?!" It was clear Finnley was very upset but none of his family could hear him, mostly due to his dad being away at work and his mom being on the second floor of the house unpacking things still. He was on his own with this one and at the moment wanted Gale out of his sight and far from him.

She didn't like the way Finnley was reacting. Didn't like being treated like she was some kind of monster there to hurt him. Couldn't he see that she would already have done so if that was her intentions? Was he so utterly incapable of understanding that her true nature would have been to attack him earlier rather than just frighten him? It frustrated her, as well as saddened her to think that by trying to convince Finnley of the truth, she might have lost a potential friend in the process.
"What I am is a vampire, what I was before was someone hunting and killing vampires. You wouldn't believe me when I tried to tell you, so I had to show you, I should have warned you beforehand and I'm sorry." She was stepping back from him at this point, giving him as much distance as possible while still staying in the same room as she didn't want him to think she was there to hurt him. Even if it all seemed to fail.
"I wanted you to know the truth so it wouldn't surprise you if the wrong person found you in a dark alley." Amelita had really only wanted a friend, and she would teach him more than just to shoot arrows if he'd ever trust her enough to let her teach him. She'd teach him how to be safe for one thing. All she wanted was a friend, and she had to go about it the wrong way.

Finnley didn't know if he should have felt terrified or pissed off in that moment. This girl wasn't even human, at least not anymore. He was still standing in a defensive manner as he read her lips, still looking ready to deck her. He didn't want to believe any of it, wanted to think it was all just a bad dream but Gale had been nothing but honest and he could see it in her eyes no matter how much he tried to deny it. He watched her still, his angry expression softening some when she had a point. This all could have gone so much worse than her slipping up with inhuman speed. His voice wasn't booming anymore, but it was still a bit too loud as he spoke. "Just...how am I suppose to just take all this in? I've already had to come to terms with my hearing, but vampires? How did you expect me to react..." He sounded more scared than anything now, but he kept a defensive stance even if he felt she wasn't going to hurt him at this point.

It did seem like Finnley was calming down a bit, but she wouldn't risk anything yet. She kept her distance, even when he asked how he was supposed to take it all in. She even raised her voice some in frustration when she answered, despite the fact that he couldn't really hear her. "I didn't think that far, I just didn't want to lie. This is all very new to me too..."
Hugging herself slightly, she looked down at her feet, uncomfortable with the whole situation and how she'd messed everything up by trying to show him the truth. If she hadn't messed up and used her speed without thinking about it, none of this would have happened. Looking up at Finnley again, she wanted to say something, but she bit her lip to think through what she wanted say before she finally did say something. "I just wanted a friend, I haven't really been out much before today... Now that you do know it's all real, I just want you to be safe."

Finnley watched Gale, noticing that she was getting upset with herself now and actually felt bad about exposing things like this to him. He watched her hug herself, looking a bit sad now as he watched Gale bite her lip. His eyes looked a bit confused mixed in with the fear before reading her lips, not sure how to take her words. It could all be a trap somehow, vampires sometimes played with their food before killing it mercilessly. But the way gale behaved showed this would have been some pretty bizarre trap if she honestly wanted to hurt Finnley. Slowly he lowered his arms with a sigh, just giving her a sad look as he spoke softer. "I can tell you're honest and I'd try to stay upset but its just wrong for me to...all I can ask is, warn me before you go all teeth and eyes on me, okay? I still haven't the slightest idea how you can exist, it all just feels so mad."

It was a relief to see Finnley lower his arms, almost like he was starting to believe her. She really didn't understand how she'd gotten it all wrong for so long; it was staying away from humans that put them at danger. Since she hadn't really had that many human encounters since she was turned, she didn't know how to act around them without giving herself away quite by accident. Humans learning the truth wasn't always a good thing, not unless they were ready to defend themselves should they need to.
"I don't understand the biology of it myself to be honest, I'm just glad to still be alive in a way... And I promise you, no more teeth or eyes, I just needed to show you so you'd understand," she smiled slightly now, glad he seemed to believe her. Maybe she could actually build a real friendship with this one rather than pretending to be something she was not. Of course, she wouldn't do anything to put the human at risk at any time.
"If it makes you feel any better, or safer for that matter, I can tell you a few ways to kill a vampire should you ever be attacked by one..."

Finnley's arms may have been lowered, but his body was still rather tense. He kept his eyes on her, noticing she seemed happier that he wasn't looking ready to kick her as she started to talk again. He gave a bit of a nod before she started to talk again. His eyes went wide that she was willing to offer such information to him. Maybe she was being honest this whole time and Finnley was never in real danger with her. "you'd actually do that? Just...thanks. I think. But one more question, how did you get in here past my mum?" It had only occurred to him then that Gale would have had to run into his healthy hearing mother to have gotten to his room. He was starting to look a bit scared again as he wasn't sure if Gale's deal of no harm extended to his family.

Teaching others to be safe from her kind so they wouldn't be ambushed in on a late night was the least she could do. She couldn't exactly kill her own kind without reason, but who said she couldn't show others the way if they were in danger? Marcus had certainly made it very clear that she wasn't to kill other vampires herself, but that he wouldn't stop her from keeping her friends safe if need be.
A chuckle escaped her at the question of his mother though. "I merely told her the truth. I promised to show you around town and you bailed on me, she was kind enough to let me in." Closing her eyes for a moment, she just listened until she picked up on the woman moving things around and smiled slightly at Finnley when she opened her eyes again. "She's quite safe, still unpacking by the sound of it. And of course I'd teach you, I wouldn't want for you to get hurt by some idiot."

Finnley wasn't sure if he should he scared again or relaxed that Gale hadn't done a thing to his mother. He was still a bit freaked out by the girl, not sure what to do with her as he read her lips. So his mom was okay and still packing. He looked a bit stunned that she could here that from their location in the house. He was aware he couldn't hear a sound, but he felt she shouldn't be able to hear that good without some kind of enhancement. "That's abit scary you can hear mum that well, but I gotta get used to such things I guess..." He finally started to move so that he could sit down on his bed. His frame was still clearly tensed up and not wanting to lower his defenses completely yet, but he was making himself a bit vulnerable with going to sit down. He couldn't help to pinch at the bridge of his nose as he sat down, a headache starting to form from all of this. "So how would we start this um, teaching?" He seemed to still be at a loss at all this, his forming headache proof of that.

Amelita had been frightened at first as well, once she'd learned how well she could really hear now if she focused. Everything had just been too overwhelming, maybe that was why she hadn't asked to go outside more often as she felt safer at home with no one around to spook her. Her hearing had always been good, but she was used to spending hours up in a tree just listening, so that might've been why.
"It was a lot to get used to for me as well," she offered with a shrug. It was the best she could do really as she didn't really want to go into details of everything that had changed, lest she frightened Finnley again. It was obvious he wasn't quite over his scare yet, but at least he wasn't shouting anymore so that was a relief. At his question, she looked around his room until she found a pencil.
Twirling the pencil in her hands for a moment, she handed it to Finnley before she stepped back again. "I'll bring you a proper piece of wood later, for now that will have to do," Since the human was sitting down, Amelita figured it would be less intimating if she did the same and she sat herself down on the floor, as lady-like as was possible while still sitting down. "A stake, or any wooden object really, to the heart kills us instantly. You need to practice your aim, and know where to strike. Attempt and miss and you're likely the one to end up dead." She didn't say that just to intimidate him because if he truly was attacked and he did retaliate but missed the heart, no vampire would think twice about killing him on the spot.

Finnley watched her still, not sure what else to do with her since he couldn't very well look away if he wanted to know what she was saying. He saw her walk around his room for a moment, looking a bit confused when she picked up a pencil. His eyes stayed trained on her as she just kept talking, not sure what to think of this. He did pale some in the face at him being the one to end up dead if he missed, unable to help with feeling nervous again. "Just a piece of wood to pierce tha heart? that's oddly simple...not saying it'll be easy, but simple still." His eyes were starting to look curious of things now, but fear and tense muscles showed he was still far from comfortable with all this. Moving quick enough to actually touch a vampire trying to kill him might be tricky, but at least he was pretty fit to begin with and not just some lazy slacker.
