Ana nodded slightly at the question if she'd been the one to save the boy. "I couldn't have done it without help from your family though," she smiled ever so slightly. She had seen how Arya and Marcus looked at the boy, just never made an effort to introduce herself as she was there for the girls mainly. She'd seen how they both seemed to treat the boy like their child rather than their pet and it fascinated her how he could warrant such behavior in the ancient vampires and not the girls.
Some time during the night, the pain had stopped and Arya had been able to get some proper sleep at last. She'd let out a sigh and turned over, still cradled in Marcus's lap with Amelita asleep by her feet. Or she'd started out sleeping sitting by her feet in the couch and wound up cuddled up to Arya during the night. Once Alec left the bedroom to go see his family, Ana dragged herself back to her feet and followed the boy, leaning against the door-frame.
Studying the family of vampires for a moment, she couldn't help but smile when Marcus finally stirred. As if he could feel the boy staring. Looking up to seeing Alec seem all well and rested made him smile before the words of last night came back to him; Arya was linked to Alec so if he was feeling better, so should she. Gently stroking her hair to wake her up, he smiled when she opened her eyes and looked at Alec. "Feeling better?" he murmured, to which she merely nodded and studied Alec. "You OK kid?" She was worried about him though, not just because she had the impression that if this transition didn't go well, it'd be close to the end for herself as well, but she wanted him to be happy.
Looking at Amelita, she pulled off the silver cross the girl always wore around her neck reached out to Alec. "I'm curious about something. I want to know if silver affects you now... Please take it, and if it doesn't affect you at all hand it to Ana-" here she looked up at the witch with a smirk- "She owes me that."

He didn't know that Arya and him were linked together, that never even accrued to him. He barely remembered anything that had happened the other night and wondered why everyone seemed so tired.
He smiled once Marcus woke up and then woke Arya up who asked him if he was okay."I think so.....I'm not hurting anymore." He said and smiled.
He blinked at the silver necklace and once it was placed around his neck, he just looked down at it and then at them. "Is it suppose to hurt me?" He asked curiously and took it off, handing it over to Ana.

It was a great relief that Alec wasn't in pain anymore and that it seemed to have gone very well with the spell and everything. It certainly gave them all less to worry about. It helped to know that his new werewolf side wouldn't be a danger to the rest of them either so they could still let him stay around the house. Now that he was no longer such a common creature among the supernaturals, Arya knew she would take a greater interest in teaching the boy simply because she wanted to know what he could do now that differed from what he could before. She was nothing if not curious about scientific things like that, Marcus had made sure of that.
Amelita had woken up as well when Arya had pulled the cross from around her neck and she panicked slightly at the loss of it, as if expecting something bad to happen. Luckily, after hearing Arya's word, she knew the witch would soon be too distracted to be able to do anything and she got up and went to find Juliette, leaving the "parents" alone with their "child" and the witch responsible for them all being to worn out and the boy still alive.
"Werewolves are vulnerable to silver, like we are to the sun," Arya said as she sat up and straightened out her clothes. "We need to figure out what strengths and weaknesses you have now, and it's good that it doesn't hurt you," smiling slightly she turned to look at the witch once Alec took the necklace off.
Ana hesitated to take the silver cross, she knew all too well what would happen and what was expected of her. Looking up Marcus with pleading eyes, he merely shook his head; there was no getting out of this one. Finally taking the silver cross, two things combined that hurt more than they did on their own, she closed her hand around the cross and winced as her skin began to itch and burn. She couldn't let go until Arya was satisfied she'd suffered enough for not warning her, by that time, her skin was starting to emit smoke from the areas touching the necklace and the smell of burnt flesh filled the room. The blonde finally spoke up: "That's enough," and Ana dropped the necklace, showing Alec the palm of her hand, all red and swollen with the cross clearly etched into her skin.
"You lucky bastard," she said and chuckled some, though it sounded choked. Her hand was still hurting pretty badly and she was trying to put on a brave face for the vampires, but no one had ever made her hold on to silver or religious icons for that long before and she hoped they never would again. Sure, she had a high threshold for pain, but it didn't include silver. "Give me a plant and I can find a way to make it into a poison, even something poisonous for a vampire, give me a piece of silver and I'm no better than the wolves."

Alec looked at Ana and wondered what the big deal was about Ana and the silver cross. He watched with slight horror as she took the cross and it started to sizzle and the smell of burnt flesh filled the room.
He covered his nose and gagged. "Thats smells terrible...." He said softly and shook his head.
He wondered what else he was immune to. "I wonder what kind of powers I have no.....oh...wait.....wasn't I going to see Casey the other night...." He said and looked worried now.

Arya was clearly humored about the whole thing, ignoring the smell and waiting as long as she could before telling the witch it was OK to let it go. Marcus on the other hand wasn't too pleased with her, but he'd get over it. Ana hadn't warned her before she linked her to Alec for better or for worse during his transition period. They were even now and that's what mattered.
"All magic comes at a price, Alec. Bringing you back needed a lot of energy, the kind that only comes from ending lives. Luckily, Arya and Marcus are old enough to have plenty of energy to use. Dealing with the dead like I do, leaves a person cursed when it comes to certain precious metals and religious icons," it was all a matter of fact to the witch. She'd learned fast enough that she wasn't going to be able to wear silver jewelry or icons, but then again she'd never been very religious.
Looking up at Alec, Arya chuckled slightly at his question. It was Marcus who answered though, because he'd remained quiet up until then. "We're curious to learn about your powers too, but we'll take you to Casey if you still want to go. If it'll help wrap your mind around everything. Maybe see if you're impervious to sunlight too one of these days."

Alec wasn't sure if he should go and see Casey yet. At least when he was turned into a vampire, he knew what was expected and what would happen but this was new territory for him.
"No I want to wait and see how this goes because I have no idea what will happen or what I'm capable of....." He said softly.
He sigh."Why does everything happen to me....." He mumbled.

No matter how curious Arya was about Alec's new powers, she knew she wasn't going to be the one to help him sort them out. She had a feeling he'd prefer it if Marcus was the one to help him since her maker seemed to be more attached to the boy than any of the rest of them. There was no hurt feelings though, Marcus always got very protective over new fledgelings, pets or not.
"Well, we're here no matter what you need. Just no biting, I don't trust Antonette that much when she says you're no venomous. Best not to take any chances," she chuckled. The witch knew she trusted her when it came to other things, but this whole deal with Alec was highly unconventional and it was best not to take any chances. A prolonged life or not, she did not want to return to basically having a time stamp on her life again.
Getting up from the couch finally, she walked over to the witch and grabbed her hurting hand. Using her nails, she created a small cut in the palm of her own hand and pressed it against the witch's. It seemed to do the trick, because for a moment she felt faint again before it passed and when she stepped away, the witch was as good as new and her own cut had healed.
Ruffling Alec's hair slightly after she caught his mumbling, she couldn't help but smile at him. "Now is that any way to look at life? Try having your own parents sell you to a whorehouse to be able to feed your siblings. Or being called into a battle that isn't yours at all... You're alive, you'll get over the shit the world throws your way." Now that the boy was no longer dying, she had to say she didn't pity him for what had happened to him. He didn't seem to have wanted this life to begin with and now he had an out, in about three or four hundred years.
Bringing Antonette with her, Arya left the room, leaving Marcus alone with Alec. "Don't mind her, she's just in one of her moods today," getting up from the couch as well, he walked over to Alec and hugged him tightly. "I'm glad you made it, and don't worry about tomorrow or the day after that. We'll figure out what you can and can't do now soon enough. The important thing is that you're ok. And who knows, maybe your real dad will be more understanding now that you're no longer just a vampire?"

He knew that he should be more grateful to be alive, even if this wasn't a life that he wanted in the first place. He was happy that Marcus took him in, he had grown attached to the man and really thought of him as a father.
He blinked at what Arya said before watching her walk off with Ana. He looked to Marcus with a small smile at what he said and it turned into a grown at the last part.
"I have a bad feeling that was maybe my dad that had bite me...." He admitted and looked sadden by this.

Whatever had happened to lead to the moment when they were all willing to give up some of their own lives to save the boy, it had been worth it. Marcus knew neither of them would be able to move on if they hadn't done everything in their power to try to save the boy. Now that Damien had all his attention romantically, Alec was something he could still share with Arya so they'd have some common ground and they'd both grown attached to him. He was too old to believe in coincidences anymore. If he'd ever believed in them at all.
"I really hope that isn't the case," Marcus said with a frown of his own. "Arya sent Amelita after the werewolf, with her silver arrows. That girl is nothing if not a good tracker and a hell of a shot. I don't believe I've ever seen her miss her target." If the wolf that bit Alec truly was his dad, there was a good chance he was dead now. Arya had acted out of grief that Alec would die and gone straight for vengeance, only uncertainty in that equation was whether or not Amelita had actually killed the wolf. She certainly had wounded him at least, since she'd brought back some of his blood for the spell.
"I'll tell you a little secret, most of us never asked for this life, but we've made do with the cards we've been dealt. Juliette was left for dead, Amelita was murdered by a werewolf when the town was under attack and my maker was a real bitch who didn't teach me anything, she only took what she wanted. Arya is the only one of us in here that knew what it meant to become a vampire and chose this life." It was all true, and he did have a purpose in telling Alec. He didn't want the boy to worry about whether or not it had been his real father that bit him the night before and whether or not the man was dead.

The thought that the wolf was really his dad made him only hurt more inside. He prayed that it wasnt his dad, but before the wolf took off, it looked at him with sad eyes as if it was sadden that it had bit him.
He looked up at Marcus once the man started explaining that Arya and sent Amelita after the wolf and she never misses a shot. He looked somewhat upset by this but sigh softly.
Once Marcus started talking about that none of them besides Arya had really wanted this life made his eyebrows perk up in slight surprised."Really......even you didnt....want this...." He said.

Guiding Alec back to the couch, he sat down again. It was much more comfortable to sit than to stand around anyway. It seemed his talking about how none of them had chosen their current lives worked as a distraction for now as there was only one way to find out for sure if the wolf had been his father and whether or not he was truly dead. Send for Amelita again, at least for the death bit and he didn't want Alec around for that.
A chuckle escaped Marcus at Alec's surprised question. "Believe it or not, when the time came, it wasn't my choice to make. Didn't even get to choose whether or not to complete the transformation as she practically force-fed me human blood. Had I known then what I know now, I probably wouldn't have hesitated at all. All the wondrous things I've seen, people I've met.. I never once wished I could be human again. I had a full life, for my time, and an even fuller one since." Honestly, not a lot of people knew about his life before he became a vampire, and there weren't many more that knew just how long he'd been one before he'd turned Arya to keep him company.
"For better or for worse, I learned to live with it and then enjoy it. I never like to take the choice away from someone if I want to turn them, and I'm sorry I didn't give you much of an explanation beforehand, I really am."

At the moment he wanted to be a human. He felt like he had lost his friends and family, but he had gained a new family out of it...no matter how odd and dysfunctional they were.
He listened intently to what Marcus was saying and took in what he was saying. He smiled some when the man apologized. "I am not mad at you...I guess I just have to get use to everything still....." He said softly.

Marcus certainly knew that things took a while to get used to, especially when you hadn't been prepared for this life or had chosen it for oneself. The boy was lucky to at least have a support system around him in the form of family, however dysfunctional they were. Didn't matter that they didn't always get along all of them, in times of crises they had each others back.
"I'm glad you aren't mad, it's a terrible way to spend your longevity, once you've been consumed by rage it's not easy to come back from it. The easiest way to let go of your humanity is to be consumed by rage..." He didn't mean to scare the boy, but he felt like he should warn him that if he ever went down that road there might not be easy to come back again. He'd experienced it himself and he'd had to bring Arya back from the darkest corners of her mind more than once. They'd even just turned it all off at times, despite his love for Damien, there was no one on earth who knew his secrets like Arya.
"All I can suggest is find someone to keep you company. Despite my relationship with Damien, I can't imagine living without Arya either, she's been with me a lot longer than anyone. Much like you should find someone in addition to Casey that you don't feel you can live without so you have at least two people willing to help you get back to what's left of your humanity if you ever lose your way.

He listened as Marcus explained that the best way to get rid of the desire for humanity was to be consume with rage. His eyes widen some at this, he never thought of being consume with rage and didnt really want to.
He just shook his head at what Marcus said and sigh. "I don't want to be consume with rage though.....it's not my nature...." He admitted softly and sigh.
He looked up then, but not at Marcus. He looked straight out the window, his eyes turned from their normal warm brown to a bright golden color.
"Do you hear that?" He asked.

"I don't want you to lose yourself either, but you need to know how the consequences for certain actions affect you," he said with a slight smile. It didn't really matter if it had sounded like he wanted to scare Alec, but there was no way the boy could get by without knowing the dangers.
When Alec looked up out of the window like that, Marcus tilted his head ever so slightly to the side and listened. "Hear what?" he asked curiously. Maybe the boy had better senses than a regular vampire now that he was so much more.
