- Please keep the language clean, the occasional curse word is fine, but this isn't an R-rated movie.
- Please keep drama to the in character stuff or PMs. Or take your problems to the admins rather than lash out publicly.
- Please don't join just to send PM advertisement to all the members. Don't use the chat-box for this either. We've got an advertisement board, use that instead.
- Please don't spam the shoutbox.
Signatures and Avatars
- Please don't make signatures too large. Suggested max size is 600 x 400 px.
- Avatars are more complicated. For the skin to work properly with the mini-profile, it is suggested to link to an avatar that is 220 x 350 px and provide a link to a 100 x 100 px image to be used as a hover option when posting to the face claim (please hover over my avatar to see what I mean as I have no better way of explaining it).
In Character
- Again, please be realistic about language. This is a PG13 rated site, so we don't want anything too graphic or detailed when it comes to language, violence, sex or drugs.
- All posts are to be written in third person, past tense. Of course, you can use first person in speech.
- Try to include some of the scenery around your character when posting, it makes it easier for others to relate to where your character is in a post.
Characters
- No member is allowed to create a character that already exists. This includes anime and manga characters as well as Harry Potter, Charmed, Buffy characters and any other character from a book, TV-show or a movie. Be original when you create a new character. You may be able to draw inspirations from places, but no canon characters.
- There is no limit on the number you may have, but please remember to have separate accounts per character and try to use them all from time to time. If you no longer wish to use a character and would like to just replace the character, you are of course entitled to utilize that character's account whichever way you'd like.
- You can sign up with any username you want and later change your display name to your character's name. Please remember to use a full name for your character. Normal people have surnames as well.
- No Mary Sues or Gary Stus:
No new member is all-powerful, not even the oldest, most experienced member is, so please don't act like your character is that. It only makes people mad. This includes unrealistically horrible pasts, parents or a death wish; it's not for everyone. - Please keep in mind that your character isn't likely to win every fight or always be lusted after for their looks.
- Please, remember that purple is a beautiful color.
Posting
- We would like, one paragraph at least. A paragraph is five sentences. If you get stuck, try adding what your character is seeing, sensing, feeling.. Things like that make them seem more like real people. It also makes it easier for others to get a sense of the scene their own character is placed in.
- Please use some kind of spell checker before you post, nothing is more annoying than constantly sorting through spelling mistakes. The occasional typo is tolerated of course, but if it is every single post, I'd highly recommend a spell checker.
- You are not allowed to write what other characters than your own are doing and thinking, that's taking control over other players and that's a huge no. People doing this more than once will be warned and eventually be banned. This is called god-modding, and we don't like it.
No: '...Katherine walked down the street. She met a girl, Drusilla. Drusilla said 'Hi'...' (Katherine is me.)
Write: '...Katherine walked down the street. She met a girl, Drusilla. 'Hi, Drusilla,' said Katherine...' that's a way you might write. - See power list/species info for more guidelines for characters.
- Please DO NOT nag others to post, they will post when they are ready. And if you have no muse for a character or a thread, be polite and let them know
- Please don't double post. Don't post with the same account twice in a row, we have the fancy 'modify-button' for a reason. And please, if you have more than one account be sure you post with the right one. Threads where the wrong account is used will be locked until the error can be corrected.
WIP & RP Sample
- Applications can be listed as work in progress (wip) for 7 days from you first post it. After this it will be moved to the archives. Not to worry, it won't be deleted, and we will try to remind by PM after 6 days.
- To list an application as wip, simply add "wip" somewhere in the title of the thread.
- If you create more than one character and the first one was approved, you don't need to make another RP sample unless you want to. Just provide the name of your previously accepted character in the sample field.
