Eric wasn't too stunned at the reaction he got from the whole comment on their being a council. He seemed to be making himself comfortable in the sofa as he took a breath. He couldn't say everything about it, but he could give some explanation. "This t-town was built t-to be a s-s-safe place for people l-like us. To put it b-Blunt, this is a m-m-monster safe haven as vampire and w-werewolves live here too. We have a council f-for each group here to k-k-keep things from going bad or the h-humans here from knowing too m-much. I'm not allowed to s-say much else." Eric hoped that had been good enough of an explanation, not really sure what else he'd be able to say without giving up too much. Blue-green eyes watched curiously as Emily started to explain her story. His eyes couldn't help to look sad at her doing what was asked of her because it hurt, he could relate to that on some level.he kept listening, glad to hear she found someone accepting of her, but bit back the animals in him wanting to snarl at this father of her. He made a gesture towards himself, starting to talk again. "I can r-relate somewhat. I was t-turned into a chimera by a-a-alchemists to be a pet for hunters. I gave up in f-fighting after a while and did what they wanted to e-ease me pains. I ended up escaping though and the o-old council member took m-me in. Made me better again. I s-s-still hurt constantly, but I c-can help others now. We'll k-keep him away, a little b-black out is better than y-you in pain."

She was learning so many new things that day, both about herself and about the town she'd settled down in. It was created for them? Was that why her dad had picking Bitter Springs to settle down in? No, he couldn't possibly have known that, being a hunter and all he'd probably just picked the town on random seeing as they were mostly traveling anyway to chase down their targets.
It saddened her to learn that Eric had been forced to be turned into something he wasn't as well, even if his situation was far worse than hers. "Oh I would cause the blackout because of the pain. He likes hurting me to get what he wants, and after lashing out against him it would be a world of hurt. I'm sorry about the alchemist though, people really should learn to mind their own business..." Looking up at Eric, Emily smiled slightly.
"I would just ask my vampire friends for help, but I'm afraid they'll kill him if they get too close. Is there any way the council vampire could just compel him to stop without hurting him?" It would be the best solution to all her problems if someone could just compel her dad to stop hurting her to make her obey him and rather just be her dad. He had been once, but she could barely remember as it was so long ago and she'd been so little.

Eric listened to Emily, frowning at why she would cause the blackout. He hated those that inflicted pain to get what they want. It's why he was made a monster in the first place. He shook the thoughts away though as it just upset the animals he was fused with too much. He was coing to say something on trying to just scare the man away but his eyes went wide and he still at the idea of asking the vampire council member to help them. Eric was greatly intimidated by Arya, and other members of the council didn't like him so much. He didn't have issues with jack so much, the werewolf had actually tried to help him, but dahlia and Arya? They could care less about him as far as he knew. "S-she doesn't like me t-too much. The council is o-old and still trying t-t-to adjust to h-having the gifted on it. I-I'm not e-exactly liked or Wh-wanted by some, including t-the vampire...she's n-n-not too nice a l-lady..." Eric couldn't help to give a bit of a shiver at this. That woman really gave in a scare. It wasn't as bad as Dahlia, but dahlia was a witch and most witches he ran into didn't like him because he was a creation of artificial magic not meant to toyed with by humans.

Emily knew she didn't have much of a choice as far as a blackout went, or the pain for that matter. She still hadn't overcome her fear of water and her dad knew exactly how to scare her into losing control. Maybe it was a good thing she had lashed out and run away, at least that way she could learn some new things about the town she was living in.
"I can handle myself against a vampire," she chuckled. "I won't ask you to talk to her, but could you maybe just point her out some time?" It didn't matter if she didn't like the gifted, or if she didn't like Eric, Emily wanted to ask her anyway. She was more terrified of her father than she was of a vampire, regardless of her age and position. "I really don't want you to get in trouble because of me," she said with a soft sigh. "I feel like I owe you something for helping me earlier."

Eric watched her for a moment, not sure what to think of the request. He always tried to stay out of the other council members' ways as much as possible. He was getting better with talking to them, but only when it was needed at meetings. "I g-g-guess I could do that....she's just....she's b-b-been here a long time and I-is so t-t-terrifying, b-but I'll try." He gave her an awkwardly looking smile, not sure what else to do before she said something about oweing him something. He shook his head at the mention of this, starting to get up to his feet. He made a bit of a gesture towards the kitchen, wanting to bring some sort of comfort out of all this craze. "Y-you don't owe me anything. Part of m-my role here is to h-h-help the gifted no matter Wh-what." He started to pull things to make tea out, mostly jjust setting up the kettle and getting the tea he was given by a kind witch to try and help with his pain. He looked over to Emily then, his body seen clearly trembling as the pain was getting to be a bit much. "would y-you like anything?"

Emily nodded slightly when she learned that Eric could talk to the vampiress for her. If he couldn't do it though, she would have to ask Gale for help. The pink-haired hunter turned vampire had been a good friend to her since she left her father, even if they hadn't seen much of one another. She just didn't trust that Gale would do something silly if she asked her for help with her little problem. After all, she'd never really liked Noah from what Emily had gathered, maybe because she had had a completely different relationship with her family than Emily had grown up with.
"The people of this town keep surprising me. I'm not used to strangers being this kind, especially when the only kind of strangers I'm used to are people I've had to catch," she shrugged slightly though. She didn't like talking about her past, at least not when it came to hunting, but she didn't always have a choice. Besides, it wasn't like she'd ever picked the targets, so she figured it was fine.
"Do you have any coffee?" she asked quietly when asked if there was anything she needed.

Eric just gave her a smile, well at least as good of a smile as he could. He listened to her speak, glad he was helping out in more ways than one. He gave a bit of a nod at being asked if he had coffee, moving to start the coffee maker up and get her a mug down. He was seeming to have a bit of a struggle with his own tea though, his hands trembling a bit too much to open containers or measure things. The took a deep breath to try and calm down enough to focus, offering an apology at his trembling. "S-sorry about this. When th-the pain gets t-t-too much I struggle in h-human form."

Emily was watching Eric when he nodded about the coffee. She was about to get up when he commented on his trembling. Getting up from her seat, she walked over and opened the containers for him. "Let me help. It's the least I can do, even if I can't help with the pain."
Turning to Eric again, she smiled slightly. "How strong do you take your tea?" she asked, glad to be able to help some, even if it didn't even come close to how he'd helped her earlier. The redhead couldn't stand feeling like she owed people things and that included simple things like helping out when she could.

Eric was trying to get better with controlling his tremors and such when it came to pain, but it wasn't the easiest thing for him. He watched as she opened containers, trying not to let his frustration or a pout show on his face. He looked at her when she asked how strong he liked his tea. "P-pretty strong...it d-doesn't do much but it h-h-helps some. Makes my tr-tremors weak." So many people would mistake him for some kind of junkie from how he shook and seemed so scared. It was a real frustration for him and it even depressed him at times. He was getting better about it but at the same time he wasn't sure what to do to get them to stop entirely. He gave a shaky sigh, leaning on the count some to stabilize himself. He might have helped Emily but he was always in a mess of his own.

It felt pretty good to be able to at least help some. So she made the tea strong for Eric like he'd asked and didn't seem to mind at all that she was able to repay him somewhat at least. "I'm glad it helps some at least. Hopefully you'll find something sooner or later that makes everything better," she said with a smile, handing Eric his tea when she was done with it.
Emily knew a thing or two about being in pain, but not a constant one, so she wasn't one to judge Eric on how the tremors affected his appearance. He'd helped her, and that was all that mattered to her. That and he was kind of cute.

Eric gave her an awkward looking smile then, still leaning on the counter to tame the tremors some. he carefully took the cup in hand, staring at it as if the focus was going to help him find a means to stabilize himself. he took a few sips after letting the drink cool some, feeling the tea kick in somewhat. he looked back at Emily, not sure what they could do now that would still keep her out of harms way. "I'm sh-sure i'll get through th-th-this, but you are wh-what i'm worried about n-now. you need t-t-to hide...St-stay here if you n-need to."

Emily didn't know what she would do now. She couldn't go to her office, and she wasn't even sure it was safe to go home now that the Rileys seemed to have vanished. Then again maybe it was safe there as her dad didn't know where she'd been held up for the last year. It was still her home, so where else would she go anyway?
"I can't stay here. I need to get home sooner or later to Lady, my dog can't survive on its own," she said and sighed slightly. The dog reminded her of Oliver as it had been a present for Christmas. Where had her vampire boyfriend gone? She would worry about it later, right now she just wanted to go home and put on one of his shirts for the evening.
"Thanks for helping though," she said, sad now that she'd started missing her vampire.
