Kevin scoffed, guessing the girl had never felt any true pain in her entire life. Few people knew what pain could be. It wasn't the injury that hurt as much as the healing. Nothing hurt worse than healing. The luckier someone was to be alive, the more likely they'd experienced pain even Kevin couldn't conceive. He'd seen it, in the faces of his brothers-at-arms.
Back in Mexico, the chupacabra had gotten the best of them, hiding itself in some deserted and nameless town. They'd hunted it for longer than originally planned, but finally thought they had it pinned down in some dusty alleyway. It didn't die that night, it escaped by shredding one Kevin's friends, claws and teeth rendering flesh and exposing bones. He should have died. Kevin and the others kill the beast the following morning at sunrise, trapping it at the light burned at its flesh. Even though the culprit was dead, Kevin's friend had to live through grueling recovery. His friend still had to go through physical therapy, the muscles knitted themselves together, but they'd never be the same.
Pain wasn't something little girls should know anyways. Emotional pain, stubbed toe pain, that's what they should know. Kevin didn't begrudge them that they were unaware, he wanted to keep it that way. It just bothered him that someone could speak so flippant about pain. With a sardonic smile Kevin stopped for a moment to look her dead in the eye, "It's better that way, princess."

Clu watched him very carefully, picking up on the scoff and expressions he made. When he stopped she ended up stopping, blue green eyes staring back at green. She never understood why some called other females princess considering they had no royal blood in them, but she didn't have a moment to question it as she picked up on a werewolf gene she hadn't collected yet. It was brand new to the area, she could clearly feel that. It was in the woodsy part of the park, the one part of the park no one but rouges or newborns for vampires and werewolves went. "A new werewolf gene is in the area. It is my new objective. Good day sir." She then proceeded to run towards the tree line, not even making a second glance towards the man she had been talking to seconds ago. As soon as she was in the tree line she turned her arms into scythe blades of sorts, her wrists where the curve started. She didn't care about sneaking up on the rouge considering it had slipped past the local wolf pack. She had it in her sights, quick to jump on it. She didn't care if her clothes ended up damaged or ruined as she slit the wolf's throat. She reached into her bag and took an empty vial out, picking the wolf up some and letting blood drip into the vial for later use. She stared at the vial once she capped it, unaware that the werewolf's snarls and cries could have attracted someone.

As the snarls died down from the werewolf's death cries, Kevin stumbled upon the strange non-girl. All he saw were knives for hands and blood. The girl was doing something to the corpse, but Kevin couldn't see what it was. Even before he'd made it to the forested area, Kevin had his handgun at the ready. He ignored the pain as his face contorted in disgust. "What #$%^ are you?"
Kevin was not a versatile hunter, he was not terribly well versed in mythologies and types of supernaturals. Throughout his youth he left the 'book stuff' to people with glasses, his interests more in combat and flirting with girls. He took the assignments as they came to him, smart enough to memorize what was required, but never going further. At first he considered a new type of vampire, but she'd been standing next to him in broad daylight! In his world, no vampire could survive day time, it was impossible. She couldn't be a werewolf, they all had a code of honor that wouldn't let them harm one another, or so Kevin thought. All he could really deduce is that she was not human, and therefore an enemy.
He pulled the hammer back on the gun, holding it steady where a lesser man might be shaking. Where fear normally crippled a man, Kevin used the adrenaline to his advantage, practice and constant use of it honing his ability to keep a level head. "You have exactly two #$%^ing seconds to respond."

Clu's hands had reverted back to normal, fingers dripping in blood but she didn't care much as she stared at her sample. She looked up with a blank face at her subject from before pointing a gun at him. Green blue eyes blinked, expression lacking as she turned to face him. It was a question she barely had an answer for, but she had one that was just enough from what she had learned of her origin. "I am a synthetic being. I have the ability to change my limbs into weaponry. My secondary ability is copying genetic traits, I collect ones that I am able to use as a defense system. Would you like me to demonstrate this ability?" Clu hadn't exactly been taught that her abilities were not something people would understand, but she had been taught that she needed to calm others down should they find out instead of killing them like her mind wanted to do.

He aim never wavered as she expertly explained what she was, Kevin figured the girl was weird, but now he was starting to think she was a lab experiment. "Keep your #$^#%^$ #$%^#$% #$% hands where I can see them." His pent up anger came rushing out of him, he wanted her to give him a reason to shoot her. She appeared young, but it wasn't like she was kid. Hands that are literally weapons? She was obviously a danger to society if she would run off at a moment's notice to slit something's throat.
"#$&%#$#$, I hate this #$^& town. Are there more of you? The !@$^*#$%-$%$%^-#$^&* does 'synthetic' mean? Are you a @#%#%^&&^%-@#$#$%^&$ clone?" His words came pouring out of him, unnerved and feeling entirely out of his league. He needed help and he needed it now. The Professor would not be pleased, but no one could have figured out this turn of events. There were rumors of an individual that the professor knew, some expert on supernatural beings, not just werewolves and vampires, but all mythologies. The person was cloaked in mystery, all Kevin knew, was that the situation was out of hand.
He had been compromised and now the assignment was more than his training could handle. Kevin had never dealt with anything of this type. He didn't even know what could change shape so easily as this girl did with her hands. He liked when his world resembled cable television, not the Sci-Fi channel. Over his head was about three threads ago.

Clu wasn't used to so much swearing, eyes staring at him blankly. She kept her hands in view as instructed, but was bringing one of them closer to her lips. She let him keep talking, taking all his words in before responding. "I was created in a lab. I reached full maturity at one year, leaving me in a human form that allows me to be approachable. I am the only individual I know like this. The facility I was found in was destroyed according to my father figure. You do not need to be alarmed, I am not going to harm humans. My only objective is the genes of the supernatural." She licked some of the blood off her hand then, keeping her hands in view as her eyes turned an amber color. All her senses were heightened for the moment, the urge to change into a wolf coursing through her but she was able to remain where she was, just staring blankly.

"Stop @#%$^&* moving you little freak!" He liked the sound of something supernatural going after other supernaturals, but how was he to trust it? It didn't seem to have any morals, it just seemed to follow what its "father figure" told it to do. So what were the morals of the "father figure"? Did he want to eradicate this plague as much as Kevin and the Professor? Or was he trying to create little things like this one?
"And I don't need to be alarmed? You're @#$%$%&^#@@#$%^&#$%#$^&$%@#%$&@$% licking blood -blood, off your hands of a thing you just killed." When he noticed her new eye color he visibly shivered. "Can you take me to this "father figure"?"

Clu just stared, hands at her side now. Blood was still dripping from them some, but not much. She took in all that was being said, not understanding what was wrong with her licking blood from her hand. "Blood is the strongest sample of a species genetics I am able to obtain. By ingesting the blood, I am able to absorb the genetic traits for an alotted amount of time." She stood still for a moment, her pupils looking to contract to slivers at this man wanting to see her father. A strange defense seemed to kick in, her voice staying rather empty, but her eyes looked aggressive. ]"Due to your level of aggression and the weapon you have drawn, I will not allow you near my father figure due to chances of you attempting to harm him. I may not understand emotion like my father figure wishes I could, but I am able to read when one has the intent to damage another." She had no access to her weapons system at the moment, knowing if she wanted to fight back she's have to turn.

"Start walking to your daddy or I shoot." All joy and jokes had flooded out of him, replaced by disgust and hatred for all things non-human. It was always blood, every supernatural thing he ran into craved blood for one reason or another. Vampires were obvious, and werewolves liked their blood with a side of human flesh. What was next, zombies?
"I had no intentions of hurting anyone. All I wanted was to take a nice walk, feel the sun on my face. Apparently that's too much to ask of this @#$%^^%$ town. Just wanted to walk, alone with my thoughts then this little freak starts asking me questions. I played along, I answered them nicely. Politely, even. And how am I repaid? She's a freak that drinks things' blood." He could feel his trigger finger itching, all he needed was to move it a fraction of an inch, just a little tiny squeeze. Then Pop! goes the girlie.
It was all her fault, he'd been minding his own business, not hurting anyone or anything. Kevin convinced himself how right it was for him to act this way, how he truly was going to be doing the world a favor. Supernaturals were all evil, they needed to be exterminated. Girl or not, young or not, Kevin didn't care. They were all the same.

Clu just stared, eyes bright amber and watching his every move. She didn't understand. How he was unable to understand that she wasn't letting him anywhere near her father. She stepped towards him then, not minding the insult as she spoke. "I am not able to bring you to my father. Allow me to leave on my own and I will not be required to use my defense system."

The trigger pulled from muscle memory, the moment he saw her approaching. Age, abilities, human, not; Nothing mattered but the fact he felt threatened. Smooth with the grace of practice, he held his breath the moment he squeezed the it, eyes never leaving his target. He knew how to kill, he knew how to shoot, and only the tiniest bit of guilt flew into his mind with the sound of the shot ringing in the small woods.
He knew he'd have to get away, it was day light and he'd been crazy to pull out his gun, on a girl too. There would be people nearby soon, and he knew how it would look. Little girl, crazy guy with a gun? The news alone would eat him alive. He figured the laws of this backwards town would have him stoned to death for this discretion.
He knew he shouldn't stay, someone would hear the shot and call the cops. Or it would be a good citizen that only wanted to help. All anyone would see was a dead girl and a crazy guy with a gun. He'd probably be stoned to death for this crime, the death of a young woman. Though he knew he should run, he paused to look at the damage he did to her.

Clu wasn't surprised to hear the sound of gunfire, falling back for a moment as she had been shot in the throat. She struggled to breathe for a moment blood spluttering from her lips for a moment as she heard the man trying to get away. she got back up, not caring of the blood dripping down from the wound onto her dress or the little bit of blood on her lips as the wound was already closing up, the experiment not too happy. She charged after Kevin then, a hand going to grab his throat and pin him to a tree if she managed to get him. "I was making no move to attack. I had to walk past you in order to leave. I am now required to disarm you for taking open fire on me."

Kevin watched in unconcealed horror as the wound inflicted on Bambi healed itself. Her sputtering showered blood before her, a hideous choking sound that sounded reminiscent a sucking chest wound. Air and blood shouldn't mix, the noise emanating from such wounds always gnawed at the very essence of him. Air was life, blood was life, but should the two mix it caused almost certain death.
And this girl just healed from a mortally fatal wound. It revolted Kevin in a most innate sense. Humans have ever feared differences. He is not like me and therefore my enemy. Bambi was very much not like any human Kevin had known, and he felt disgusted by her presence.
Charging at him or not, Kevin was well trained enough to dodge her attack, but not fast enough to land one of his own. If she pinned him, he knew it was almost certain death, so he ducked, dipped, dove and dodged like a mad man threw a wrench at him. Threw clenched teeth he spoke to her, "Go away little thing, or I'll see how much lead it takes to drop you." He'd decided to aim for her knees and legs, having seen it takes at least a moment for her to heal from one wound. If it came down to shooting her legs to ribbons, he hoped it'd give him enough time to run.

Clu watched him dodge her hands, eyes following to see where he went. She noticed where he was aiming now, eyes blinking. "I have the ability of regeneration. By shooting me, including removing my limbs, I will be able to recover with a new limb in place. Put the gun away and I will no longer have the objective to disarm you. I believe this is a sign of surrender, meaning I am of no harm to you." She held her hands up then, showing him her palms.there was a mix of her blood and the wolf she killed, painting her like a red handed criminal, but she honestly didn't want to kill a human, much less chase him down.

Gun still pointed at her, he narrowed his eyes, unable to judge the truth of her statements, wondering if he should trust it. "Yeah, I get the whole regeneration thing, but it would still slow you down." Lucky for him the previous shot didn't piss it off. He motioned with her gone as he spoke, "Now keep your bloody hands where I can see them- and back up." The gun was his power, both his weapon and his protection. Most things didn't enjoy getting shot, and most would listen as they stared down a barrel. Bambi, whatever kind of experiment she was, didn't seem to be afraid of the pain or death of being shot.
"We were having what would have passed as a pleasant conversation, then you went along and.. turned into a Pokemon? I don't care what you are, but it is my duty to ensure people are safe. Do you kill humans? Gun-toting threats excluded." She seemed to be programmed, and wanted to make sure her answer didn't have to be bogged down by the obvious. Kevin would kill Kevin if he pointed a gun at him, thankfully he'd never have to deal with that paradox. There'd be two dead Kevin's and only scientists would care. So long as she wasn't a threat to the general populace, he'd leave this one to the egg heads of his society to figure it out.
