Beau noticed the way the man was looking at him and made an attempt to shut his mouth quickly. It opened and closed like a goldfish stuck on land but no sound came out. He wasn’t exactly sure why he was rambling to a stranger; it wasn’t like he needed to know but as always, Beau was panicking because it involved his family.
He loved everything about Somber so far, one person in particular making the place even more special than it already was. The last thing he wanted was for his aunts to hear he’d been attacked, especially since the only time this had happened was when an alpha showed up. They would get freaked out and drag him away and that would mean never seeing Finny again. Hell, they’d more than likely stop him going to Somber if they found out it had its own pack, even if their morals weren’t as the old Whitby packs were. He just didn’t feel it necessary to tell this man everything though so shrugged his shoulders in return to his question and sighed in heavily. “I don’t know. I guess they just had bad experiences. I had bad experiences. We came here to get away from them, to stop them tearing us to shreds. My aunts would worry too much if they found out there was a pack here, they wouldn’t let me out ever again. They want to protect me, that’s all.”
He ran his fingers through his hair and glanced around. The place was much bigger than he had thought it would have been. It wasn’t very often you came across a cabin of such size. Compared to the one he shared with his three aunts, four cousins and two uncles, it was like a castle from a fairy tale. He picked up on other scents too, two standing out the most. Narrowing his eyes, he turned to the man with a strong curiosity. “Would you ever harm your child if they did something wrong? If they disobeyed you and wanted to follow their own dreams?”

Jack wondered what could have happened to the boy that would make him so fearful of packs and alpha's. A few of his pack members had come from previous packs and had told him that their alpha's weren't the nicest in the world. Jack was a kind alpha, but he didn't put up with shit and would lay down the law if need be and used any force if necessary.
He just nodded his head to what the boy had said and needed a cigarette bad no. He cocked an eyebrow at what the boy asked and wondered if maybe he had smelt Kailah.No........I would let my daughter do what she wanted. He said.
Why do you ask.....was your dad or mom the alpha and they did something to you.....that would have made you this fearful of me. He asked.

Beau felt a stab of jealousy at Jack’s answer, wishing that he had once been granted the privileges this Alpha’s daughter had. He scowled slightly and turned his cheek to look away from the alpha and stared out of the window instead. Of course he would allow his daughter her freedom, what kind of sick bastard kept his kids locked up and denied them freedom to be children? Children needed the outside world to learn and grow from. They needed to know what was outside their own confinements. It was no wonder Beau found himself so socially awkward at times now.
He growled quietly at the man’s question, shooting him a quick glare as though asking why it was any of his business before his face fell to that of a saddened expression. He wasn’t sure how to answer, or if he even should. If Sammy ever found out he was bad mouthing their father… well, Sammy always understood their father’s ways a little more. His had to swallow hard before he could speak, realising that if he wanted to stay around Somber, he was going to have to explain eventually. He didn’t want the stranger to think he was just being the way he was for nothing.
“No. My father… he… he was an alpha for a very long time. He ruled our pack before I was even born. They had… rules… of sorts that we had to follow. Strict rules that should never be disobeyed. Anyone found disobeying these rules were either sent away or… or killed. My punishment… it wasn’t meant to be so severe… he tried to treat me differently but the rest of the pack… my uncle… he disagreed. It should have been me that was killed… not my father or my mother. They only wanted to protect me…”
He felt tears stinging at the corner of his eyes as he averted his gaze to look out of the window again. He wasn’t sure if anything he had said would make sense to the stranger, he could barely bring himself to talk at all. He worried what the alpha would think of this, if maybe his rules were the same and if now, maybe, Beau was in trouble again for admitting he had made a mistake. He only wanted to keep the peace though, make things easier for everyone rather than living in fear or anger about something you know little about.

Jack didn't quite understand why the other now seem to get angry at his answer. He was speaking the truth.....maybe the other was jealous of his answer. When Kailah became old enough to understand things, he would let her make her own decisions and choices, it wasn't up to him to decide for her. Now he would never let her make some decision that would be harmful to her, he wanted to protect and love his daughter, but not at the stake of loosing her forever.
He waited, not even making a face when the other sent a quick glare his way and growled softly. As quickly as the negative responses happened, they were replaced by one of pain and sadness. Something must have happened to this boy to make him this fearful of other wolves and alpha's.
The boy finally started speaking, he listened intently on the story and sigh softly once he was finished. So that was what had happened....he wasn't going to ask what the boy had done that would cause his parents their death, but it make sense now why the boy would fear him.
I am sorry for your lost. He said, giving the boy a sincere look.
Not all alpha's are bad......my pack seems to like me pretty well but I am a fair alpha and I do have rules, but they are reasonable..I do let them socialize with other beings and they came choose who they love, but they are not permitted to harm or kill another pack member for whatever reason that it my absolute law and if they do disobey then I will kill them myself. He said and frowned. I only have three rules, one of which I name off; the other rules are don't betray the pack by giving out information that we talk about during meetings and I don't really want loves ones to be associated with the pack....my daughter and my love don't even come around my pack and I don't want other loves ones to either. He said.
There was something that was bothering him, he kept looking at the boy now and took another whiff of the air, smelling the sirens scent again. How do you know Finny? He asked.

Beau couldn’t bring himself to look at the alpha as he listened, half hearing everything the other had to say as his head was clouded with memories he had tried to supress. He wiped roughly at a tear that threatened to escape and kept his eyes outside, watching the breeze gently knocking the autumn leaves to the floor in a whirlwind of gold and reds.
The rules sounded very different to the ones he knew back home but one of them still filled him with doubt as to whether this pack was really going to be any different at all. He couldn’t see how everyone was expected to get along. Obviously, being in a pack meant having each other’s backs in times of need but what if one were to turn, to hurt another member emotionally in a way that couldn’t be judged, what then? Beau didn’t find this fair and felt himself fill with worry again.
His anxiety only doubled at the mention of Finny’s names, his eyes darting back to the stranger with a puzzled expression. “I… He’s… We…” He stuttered slightly, trying to think of the best way to explain what he and Finny were. Could he be so bold as to call him his boyfriend? Beau would have liked to think that that was what Finny was and hoped Finny would think the same. Feeling his cheeks burn, he looked down at the floor and smiled at the thought. “He’s my boyfriend… at least I think that’s what you’d call it… How do you… Why…?”

He could tell by the way the boy was getting flustered about Finny that the two weren't simply friends. A smile came to his face tv the thought of Finny being with someone. The beautiful siren needed someone in his life but couldn't help but to wonder what would happened if the boy broke the relationship off.....he thought it was best not to bring up the little incident that happened between Finny and him after he made it clear that he didnt want a relationship with the siren.
He only nodded when the boy confirmed his suspecious before asking him why he had asked."I know Finny, were friends and I was asking because you have his smell all over you....I'm happy the little fish finally found someone." He said with a smile.
He then remembered that indigent with those two vampires and Finny and wondered if the wolf even knew it happened. He may have not since the wolf seem to not know an decided to just not say anything.

Finny watched with the same confused expression as the werewolf smiled at him, confusing him even more until he explained. His cheeks flushed more and he quickly looked at the floor again, slowly sitting himself back up as he started grinning. “I don’t have his smell all over me… do I?” He glanced back up at the man, clearly more than happy that he had the approval of at least one of Finny’s friends. “Oh well... As long as he is happy… it doesn’t matter.”
He turned to glance back out of the window and then to his waist. It didn’t hurt as much to move anymore which was a relief and Beau knew he would have to be making a move soon. “I’m going to have to keep this covered well so my aunts don’t see it. I don’t want them blaming you for it… even though you did protect me, they will still get the wrong idea. The believe that anywhere there is a pack, there is trouble.” He offered a smile to the man but it was one of those where it was more apologetic. He still wasn’t sure what to make of this stranger but he had saved him hadn’t he? So it was only fair to give him the benefit of the doubt and make an effort to follow their rules.

Finny's smell was all over the young wolf and it was apparent to him that they two had a very physical relationship. He just wondered if the wolf knew what he was getting himself into; Finny wasn't the type that let go easily, that much was for certain and he just hoped that the wolf wasn't like him and just using Finny for sex.
He smiled some, hearing the wolf said that as long as Finny was happy that was all that mattered. Well that's good....Finny deserves to be happy just don't hurt him okay. He said.
He just listened as the wolf explained he would have to keep his wounds covered from his family so they wouldn't blame him for what had happened to the young wolf. I see. He said simply, taking a cigarette out now and placed the yellow bud in between his lips.
Well if you have to get home, then go home but be careful.....other rogues and vampires can smell a injured wolf a mile away and you won't be so lucky. He said. He wasn't going to escort the boy out, if he wanted to leave so bad and walk through the woods wounded because he was scared of the man that saved his life then that was his own funeral.

Beau found himself smiling without even realising it. The man’s talking about the young siren had him thinking about Finny again, his heart dancing around as he faced the man and shook his head, trying not to frown at such suggestion “I would never hurt Finny. Ever. I think I may actually love him…” He turned his attention to his feet now, blushing heavily as he had never admitted that to anyone before. Thinking about it though, the feeling’s he got around Finny were those he’d only ever heard described to him form others that had been in love. It helped him relax greatly as he sighed and leant back against the couch, almost forgetting he had to be going soon.
Jack’s voice brought him back to the situation at hand and he giggled a little at how the man warned him. ”It’s fine. I’m a fast runner so they can try catch me if they want, I’ll give them a good challenge.” Groaning slightly, he sat up again after just getting comfortable and climbed to his feet, shaking slightly at first before managing to get his balance. “Maybe it would be easier using four?”
It wasn’t a question as he already knew the answer. Wolves had much better balance and could take a lot more pain meaning his other form would be the more sensible option to take when running home. Smiling at the man once more, he turned and headed to the door. Halfway there he turned back quickly as though he had forgotten something. “Umm, thank you. Maybe we will run in to each other some other time… I’ll talk to my brother about the pack, see what I can do… And i'll tell Finny you said hi too?” And with that he was out the door, springing in to his wolf form and dashing off through the treeline.
