Character Information:
Full Name: Alexander(though goes by Alexandra now) Scott Monroe
Nickname: Alex, Cat, Lady-boy(this one will get you put through a wall)
Species:[Superkid (and technically a cat.)
Powers:
Alex’s powers come in two very different places. The first are her normal superhuman powers. Secondly though there are those that derive from her curse.
Her supernatural powers would probably label her as a psychic. She is capable of Telekinesis and Telepathy.
Telepathy – Alex’s telepathy comes off in two varieties, and active form and a more passive form of telepathy.
The passive form is just that, it is a form of her power she has little control over and is always on when she is conscious. Essentially this makes her a receptor of the surface thoughts of those around her. Every idle thought one has, every day dream, everything imagined with ones minds eyes she will hear it just as sure as if they were her own thoughts. While this proves to only be a minor annoyance or quirk that she is capable of managing when there are only a small number of people around. However the more people that are around Alex, the more thoughts she is hearing, the noisier it gets for her, and eventually it becomes impossible for her to function and can become overwhelmed.
The more active part of her telepathy is the part she has both the least amount of experience with oddly enough the most control over. That is mainly because it was the only part of her telepathy she actually has to put forth an effort to actually use it. What this is exactly is that Alex that with some concentration Alex is actually capable of probing deeper into a targets mind and read or manipulates someone’s memories. This cannot be done easily or discreetly however. When she is in someone’s mind most people can easily detect her as they will get a headache ranging from mild to severe depending on how deeply she is probing. Alex herself will also feel a headaches and disorientation during and after the probing. She has also gotten better and better at communicating with her telepathy since it is the only way she can talk while a cat, very rarely does it cause any adverse reaction to someone like causing a headache unless she is excited.
Telekinisis - Her telekinesis is pretty strait forward. With a little concentration and focus she is capable of moving objects with her mind. Her control over the object’s movement largely depends on how big it is. This means if it is something small and easy for her to physically handle it is much easier for her than something that normally she wouldn’t be able to handle. For example it would be much easier for her to use a pencil and actually write with it, than it would for her to move a 200lbs linebacker (though she could tie and untie his shoe laces with ease), something that would require considerably more effort to simply lift off the ground or push forwards or backwards.
Unless of course she is mad or otherwise excited. Either through adrenaline or some other form Alex finds the opposite to be true. Heavy things she can move and manipulate to a greater degree. Though, like before, she still has little finer more precise control in over it.
The second part of her powers, are not technically powers so much as they the side effects of a curse she is afflicted with. She is a human, who was technically irreversibly trapped as a cat and lives as a cat except for when, with the aid of a certain charm; she is able to turn into a teenage human female. Though still with some distinct catlike traits.
As a cat she is about the size of a normal house cat just on the cusp of adulthood. In fact if it was not for a few certain mannerisms that seemed a little too keen and intelligent she would be completely indistinguishable from a normal housecat. However her life expectancy, even if she spent her entire life as a cat would not be that of a normal house cat, she would live and age at the normal life expectancy of a human, same with any offspring she may or may not have. However she not stuck as a cat forever, as the curse was intended.
Thanks to a charmed collar that she has to wear as both a cat and a human she is capable of essentially becoming a human again, not her normal form technically but she is essentially being double cursed to being a cat turned into a human and back into cat when she wills it… mostly. Unfortunately the magic that made this charm was not as strong as the curse itself. She cannot stay a human constantly and must spend time as a cat while the collar, for lack of a better term, recharges. Essentially for every minute she spends as a human it needs a minute and a half to recharge later. The longest time she has ever managed to stay in human form constantly in a row was twelve and a half hours before being forced cat into a cat form for days after. It should be also noted that if the collar is removed for whatever reason she will revert back into her cat within a few short seconds.
Even as a human she is obviously not a normal human. Besides the obvious differences (the cat like ears she tends to hide with hats when in public) she also has certain feline traits that continue to bleed over. Her canine teeth are longer and sharper than normal for instance, and she still has the same feline senses as a human, complete with night vision, heightened hearing and so on. She also much more agile and has excellent catlike reflexes.

Personality:
Alex is a rather jaded girl. The traumatic experiences of the recent part of her life have turned her into a rather cynical, paranoid, sharp tonged, stubborn, and judgmental person. This wasn't helped by the fact that she hears all the petty thoughts complaints and internal self-absorption of everyone around her almost every waking moment. While she has become somewhat used to it it's still a little disheartening and misanthropic by this. Yet she still has an almost hopelessly naïve and outgoing side of her that one day she will meet someone who in the end is not a self-absorbed or as petty and selfish as everyone else she has ever met. So far she has been disappointed.
She is also rather secretive. Alex does not like talking about her past yet at the same time hate lying to people. So when asked directly she will either dodge the question or obfuscate and change the subject and only actually lie as a last resort.
She is also every self-conscious about her the way she looks. Like it or not she has the mind of boy and is trapped a girl’s body, a girl’s body that isn't' even human. Every morning she flinches at the sight of herself in the mirror, all day long she feels uncomfortable and off in the cloths she wears, she refuses to look to get dressed unless her eyes are clothes or the lights are off and will, and has picked fight with guys she thought were checking her out.
Though it’s much stronger when she is a feline than when she is a human, she does have some rather strong animalistic instinct. She finds herself sometimes growling when angry or frustrated, and much to her embarrassment purring when happy. She also has something of a predatory instinct, finding herself often skulking and stalking without realizing it. Much to her chagrin she also has several embarrassingly cat like traits, she finds herself easily distracted by things like laser pointers and has a compulsion for touching anything dangling in front of her face.

History:
Alex Monroe was Alexander Monroe to the first boy to Henry and Maria Monroe. They were an upper middle class family that for the most part was perfectly average and ordinary and soon they were joined by his little sister Elle within a couple of years. For the most part Alex’s childhood was rather uneventful, remarkable for its remarkability. He was a normal little boy with, had friends, played little league sports, went to school, got into mischief, nothing too intense. For the most part there was no hint at any sort of abnormalnes or any way of knowing that he was anything but a normal average guy. This was soon to change.
Things changed around his fifteenth birthday when he started experiencing headaches, and becoming more and more intuitive where he seemed to always know how people were feeling. The he started hearing things. Faint whispers and so on form people around him, he seemed to always know how people were feeling and so on. Initially his family thought that maybe he was going insane but test after test showed that he was not schizophrenic, things continued on to get worse and worse, he even would sometimes wake up swearing things in his room were floating. Eventually it became clear that this was not strange occurrences or weird coincidences and everything that there was something seriously different about Alex.
It was plain and clear that he had psychic powers. So shortly thereafter they packed up and moved to Bitter Springs and things soon returned to relative normal. He went to school, he eventually got a handle on his powers, began to get used to them and get a pretty good handle on them. Things went on in relative normality until Alex met a girl at school named Maggie DeVito, a girl from a rather proud family of witches. They hit it off pretty well and eventually they began to date and became something of a couple.
While they were perfectly happy, Maggie’s Mother (her father had long since died) was far from pleased with this, seeing Alex as something of an upstart and beneath her family’s proud lineage. She forbade Maggie from seeing Alex but that did not deter the, they snuck around behind her back and everything and after several months, fed up with her daughters disobeying her she decided to act directly. Using her relatively powerful magical abilities she cursed Alex, turning him into a cat, and to add insult to injury, and for reasons Maggie’s mother only knew, a female cat at that.
Needless to say Alex was rather shocked by all this, and Maggie tried to get her mother to change him… now her back to normal. But she refused, and when her she threatened to report her mother to the authorities, tell Alex’s parents and everything, her mother simply promised to kill Alex if she did. So she reluctantly remained silent on the subject, promising Alex that she would either figure out how to change her back herself, or convince her mother to do it.
At first Alex figured that this would not take long, but as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, she began to get deterred. All this time she was living as a cat as essentially a prisoner and pet to Maggie’s family and was starting to give up on ever being human again. It was the ninth month that Maggie came up with what she felt was the only real choice they had. She concluded that the only person who could reverse the curse was her mother, but she could use her own magic to maybe help, essential a spell over her mother’s spell.
Maggie’s plan was to curse was to use a spell that would turn an animal into a human on Alex, figuring that it would reverse her mother’s; after all she was a cat now so it should work. But so after a week of secretly learning and enchanting the item that would do it, a black leather cat collar, they devised a scheme, they would change Alex back and flee her home and tell Alex’s parents everything that had happened. However things did not go as planned. Shortly after they started their plan Maggie’s mother found out what they were planning before the collar’s magic could initially do its thing and decided to simply kill Alex.
So Maggie and Alex (still a cat at the moment) fled into the woods with her Maggie’s mother giving chase. It was obvious they both were not going to get away so they split up, with Cat-Alex running one way and Maggie the other. Alex ran for maybe ten-fifteen more minutes before the collar’s spell began to change her and she blacked out. She came to the following morning and was stunned, she was not a cat. She was a human, but not a boy; she was a human girl now. It was then Alex realized the flaw in her’s and Maggie’s plan. It was not that the spell reversed the curse, it simply made the cat into its human equivalent, and she was a female cat.
Still she figured Maggie could fix that and made her way to the spot they planned to meet back up, and waited, and waited, for the better part of the morning before she realized Maggie wasn’t going to show up. So she snuck back to where Maggie’s mansion was and to her shock and surprise there was nothing there anymore just an empty field as if the mansion just up and vanished. Confused and now at a loss for what to do, the nude raven haired girl made her way back into the town and eventually was able to contact her parents. After a great deal of trying she was able to convince them that she was in fact there missing son, who they thought had been kidnapped, and had been looking for since the day she was transformed.
So now she tries to adjust to her new life as a teenage girl who spends half her time as a cat.
Sample post:
She could not believe she was doing this Alex sighed as she padded down the hall of her home on her paws, but it had to be done. Her ears were perked up and she would stop every now and then smelling the floor, rat urine. God she was sniffing rat urine, dried almost unperceivable levels of but her cat like rhinarium could detect it, a drawback of having heightened senses she supposed. This meant they had a rat, just as she suspected. Ew a rat was living in her house, maybe it was her feline half but she felt this could not stand.
This was easier than she expected, the rodent wasn’t exactly hiding its presence in Alex’s house, a chewed wire here, a scratched floor here, and its musky scent all over everything. She was starting to take this as a personal insult. Eventually she found the offending rodent, hold up in the kitchen. Its scuzzy little claws scurrying across the linoleum sounded as loud as cannon shots to her ears. Arrogant little rodent intruding on her house, it had no idea she was there. If her face could it would be contorted into a wicked little gin right now as she crept in low, silently getting closer and closer all the while remaining undetected. Until she struck.
Within the blink of an eye she was on top of the intruder, her paw pinning it to the ground and it providing little resistance, she had hit it so hard it seemed to have stunned it. But as she knew it was alive as she stood there proudly over her defeated prey, her teeth bared, she could feel its heart beating. But before she could bury them into the creatures throat she regained her senses, she wasn’t’ going to eat this thing, or kill it. But it could not stay here; a rat in the house was just unacceptable. So taking it by the tail gently in her mouth she made her way out for the kitchen through the back door, after her return home they had added a little doggie/cat-door in some weird gesture of acceptance. She made her way under the moon light sky into the back yard and with a flick of her head sent the stunned rodent flying from her mouth and into the brush.
That should teach it, she noted with some pride as she turned and made her way back inside. Seriously though, a mouse, in the house, had the place really fallen apart that badly while she had been gone? She was going to have to give everyone a scolding in the morning.
