Outfit
It was 4:30 in the afternoon on a quiet Tuesday. That morning the weather had been cold, bringing a chill to anyone who dared leave the safety of the indoors. The calm wind and overcast skies had carried on throughout the day, little hints of blue sky peeking through the ugly clouds every so often. It was supposed to rain in the next few days; the town needed it. Rain was a nice way to cleanse everything, especially the air. There was nothing better than fresh air after a nice long rain.
The forest was calm; the light wind stirring the thin layer of leaves on the ground. Thin branches on the trees swayed under the pressure of the soft breeze, the few leaves they had on them rustling softly. Somewhere in the not too far distance birds of all different kinds were calling to each other, some of them even singing. It was a wonderful sound; so peaceful and calming.
Yet again, Kambria Fae found herself walking through these same woods, taking in all the sounds and sights. This was the fifth time this week; once on Sunday, three times the day before, and now today. With the family she nannied for being gone for the week she had plenty of time to herself. The family had gone out of state to visit Mrs. Engel's parents. Kambria would have gone with them but she'd been sick the last few days; just some short term stomach flu. Not knowing how long it'd last it was instisted upon that she stay home.
Lucky her. Her flu had gone away two days after they'd left and now she had nothing to do but explore some more. Kambria and the Engel's had been living in Bitter Springs for almost eight months now and save for play dates, shopping, and the ocassional trip to the park, Kambria didn't get out of the house too much which meant she didn't meet a lot of people.
In a way she was hoping to meet some of her own kind. Being stuck with and living next to humans twenty-four seven wasn't fun; it got boring really fast. She smelled the other wolves everywhere she went but she never ran into one. She was tired of being alone; she needed someone to help her feel like she wasn't just a lone wolf. No pun intended.
