Muscles fatigued, Kevin couldn't maneuver as well as he had hoped. It looked like this guy was a pretty even match, but Kevin could feel the weakened hold he was in and knew it wouldn't hold him for long. On the flip-side, Kevin wasn't sure how well he could do a hold either. Slithering out of the other hunter's grip, Kevin rolled to his knees. The position could easily launch into another attack, but he held his hands up in momentary truce.
"Okay Sparky, you got some bite, but I think we've both had enough pissing for this contest." He of course meant figuratively. His breathing was sharp and heavy as he tried to replenish his body with sweet, sweet oxygen. Using the back of his hand he wiped the sweat from his brow, awaiting the other's reply. Bruises would blossom in a day, possibly continuing to color til the following day. Nothing Kevin hadn't dealt with before.

Once the man put his hands up ina truce, he stopped and sat back . He was drenched in sweat, taking his shirt off an had a very muscular and tone.body. He used his shirt and wiped the sweat from his face, sighing softly. He looked at the man."Im Daniel....whats your name?" He asked softly, catching his breath.

Kevin started to extend his hand for a shake of greeting, but retracted his hand. They were both soaking in their own juices, and Kevin didn't feel like touching any part of a bare chested man, just wasn't his thing. Instead, Kevin opted for the head nod, "Kevin." He'd remember the other hunter's name, he just had no intention of ever using it.
"So, where'd you learn those sort of moves?" Kevin got up and brushed the dirt off his knees. not really knowing why he went through effort. His overalls were camouflage, more dirt would make they better. Seeing the futility of the motion, he stopped and looked to the younger hunter, wondering just what his story was. Crazy sword and choppy hands had to mean an interesting upbringing.

He nodded curtly at the name given to him. He sat down, leaning against a tree. He grabbed his weapons, placing them neatly beside of him. He looked up at the other."My mentor......its techniques that are passed down through my family." He said with a soft sigh and ran a hand through his hair.

He smirked broadly, "Family business, hm?" There were rumors of entire families of hunters that trained basically from the moment the kids could walk until something ripped out their throats. Kevin found the idea backwards and outdated, though he couldn't really judge anyone's family too much. A shrink had once assessed him to be jealous of anyone else with a family, which would mean Kevin was jealous of almost anyone else. While he had tried to assure the shrink it was not jealousy, he simply didn't care. His family was dead, and everyone else had to deal with the difficulties that came with families. Kevin was free. Complete opposite of jealousy. Couldn't care less. At least when the sun was shining.
Kevin walked to his orange vest and put it back on, wondering if he could still salvage his little hunting trip. He could go for some fresh deer meat. Venison burgers? Wonderful. Hopefully, the grill where he worked would allow him use of the kitchen, maybe if things were slow. It'd been awhile since Kevin had actually cooked for himself. Ramen noodles had been sustaining him for awhile now and his jaw ached, both from bruises and yearning.

"Somewhat...I'm the last puff the Vernons so I wanted to learn as much as I can of my family's abilities." He said and stood up, putting on his jacket. He stated loading his weapons back onto him. He looked around, not seeing it hearing anything. He looked back over to the dead deer." I assume your not going to eat that deer?" Grew said.

Kevin lifted the corner of his lips in disgust at the thought of eating a vampire's left overs. "Ah, no. I think not." He shivered at the disgusting thought. Kevin disliked touching things that had been touched by a supernatural, hated anything that had been profaned by them. The hatred was deep rooted in him, and not fully his own, it was taught to him every step of the way.
The family name, Vernon, Kevin made a mental note about, it would be important when he wrote up his report. Not only were there werewolves, there were vampires running around as well. Along with the strange clone-thing he had run into the other day. At least the clone could be an asset, the rest of the supernatural freaks, Kevin didn't care for.
It could be a good thing, having another hunter around. Kevin had begun to think the rest of the hunter community didn't exist. He'd seen a few during large meetings Professor Gordon hosted, but Kevin never really got to talk to them. The hunter groups tended to do their own things and not discuss with one another unless something got particularly hairy.
Kevin checked his wrist for the time, his old beat up watch proudly displaying the time five minutes fast. It was later than Kevin had expected. "You old enough to grab a beer?"

He smiled at the look of disgust, knowing he wouldn't have either. He reached into his pocket, making sure that the daylight ring was still in his pocket. He could sell this for a pretty penny. He took it out of his pocket and examined it better. The gold band looked real and the stone looked real. The vampire must have stolen this from a wealthy vampire. He repocketed it, looking at Kevin at the question. He did face a fake ID, it came in handy if he has to go into a bar that didn't allow anyone under the age of 21 in when he was on a mission.
"According to this I am." He said, pulling it his ID and smiled.

Kevin squinted his eyes a little bit at Daniel, "How old are you, kid? I don't want to be getting some kid barely out of high school drunk. I really don't feel like going to jail." He snatched the fake ID up trying to discern its quality. There really hadn't been much time for drunken shenanigans in bars when he was growing up. Every so often they'd swipe some cooking wine, or even the Professor's scotch, but they never got into public places for it.
Regardless of the quality of the fake ID, Kevin could not condone breaking law. Killing a supernatural, completely within his rights, getting a kid a beer? One step too many. "Come on, I'll get you a soda." Kevin began gathering his things and checking his rifle. His steps turning to take him in the general direction of his vehicle.

He couldn't help but to glare some at the man snatching up his I.D like that but paid no mind to it. He took it back, putting it back into his wallet."Im 19." He said. He might as well just tell the truth. He normally didn't get drunk and only used the I.D when he needed access to a club or bar to kill a supernatural.
He followed then, not saying a word and kept a rather serious expression on his young but handsome face.

As Kevin trudged through the woods, not really too concerned about something sneaking up on them, he spoke, "So, you, what, trained to be a hunter from birth or some craziness?" Certainly some hunters would be wary after having a vampire attack, but Kevin figured if something wanted to come at them, it would have already. Their fight hadn't exactly been a silent film. Besides, Kevin needed noise as he worked things out in his head.
Regardless of the high count of supernaturals Kevin was finding, something didn't seem right. There were a lot of rogue new born supernaturals running around, which could only mean one thing: a rogue mature supernatural. New born vampires hunting in woods, new born werewolves hunting in midday. Kevin hadn't seen what Dan had taken from the vampire after killing it, but Kevin figured that'd come out in good time.
Something had to be done before this town became uncontrollable.

"Well the Vernon family always trained from ages 7 to 16, my training was somewhat different though." He said. The only reason why his was different was because his entire family was dead before he turned.7 so his training was done differently. If his family had lived, he would have been thrown out into the woods and told good luck for about two years before being trained in hand to hand combat and so on and so forth.
They walked and walked."what about you?" He asked.

Kevin slightly winced, as he always did when asked about his family or anything related to it, so he avoided it altogether. "There's a group of us, brings in young kids, teaches them basic things a normal high school would, and also teaches us all sorts of things. Professor Gordon is pretty amazing." His voice was full of awe as he spoke. "He's a little bit older but that doesn't always stop him from going out into the field. If there's any information on an supernatural, he has it." Kevin's fondness for the older gentleman glowed on his face, the man was practically a father to him.
They trudged some more through the woods, slowly winding their way to Kevin's beat up truck. "So where do you wanna grab that soda?"

He listened as Kevin had this awe for a man name Professor Gordon. He called his mentor by his first name, the man had been training his family for over 30 years, so it was a first name basis kind of relationship. He had the up most respect for his mentor though, never once had he talked back to the man, but his mentor was a very fair man, even towards supernaturals.
"My mentor has been teaching in my family for over 30 years, his a very strong man....but his also kind and fair to everyone." He said.
He looked to Kevin at the question."Couldn't we just go to the grill?" He asked.
