Eric was running around in the forest for the most part. The animals that were merged with him were slowly starting to get to him after trying to contain himself to the house a good part of the summer. The chimera's inner beasts were getting wound up and desperate for some kind of hunt to unwind, leading to the large bulking chimera to run out into the forest. Eric was aware he'd have to keep his distance from the outskirts for his sake, not doing much else to control the beasts apart of him as hind feet and human like paws thundered on the ground. He needed to eat, empty eyes trying to spot something before a deer came into his sights. The chimera was on the hunt now, steps silent as it stalked. Eric didn't want to chase the deer in its line of sight too much, just be able to tackles it and kill it quickly. He wasn't even aware if anyone else was around, thinking things were pretty safe with where he was in the woods. He didn't let though of humans or other supernatural creep into his mind as he attacked, trying to keep the kill clean and painless for his prey. He seemed satisfied once the deer stopped moving, using its human like paws to start with breaking open the rib age of the kill. Eric was sitting before his meal now, using teeth and hands to destroy the meal, acting as if he wasn't a strange sight to if a fuming just walked by at this moment,

Loud cursing could be heard rising up from not too far away. Kevin was furious. Two deer in as many days devoured before his eyes, just as he was lining up his shot. Again, without aiming well, Kevin shot at the deer, both of the bullets sinking into the dead deer's flesh. He wasn't sure what the thing was, and it scared him a little, but the adrenaline was streaming through his system, convincing him he was invincible.
"Oh noo, no deer hunting for Kevin, gotta save the deer for the infestation." Kevin hated all the supernaturals right now. Vampires, werewolves, whatever thing had mated to create the frightening combination in front of him. Kevin shot angrily at the things feet with his high powered rifle. "I'm not afraid of you!" He yelled it directly at the thing.

Eric had bloodied paws and a bit on his face, thinking he was minding his own when gun fire was heard. He stilled and picked up his head, looking to the source. Terror could be seen in his face, the human part having to fight for a moment with inner beasts not to attack the human. Eric started to back away, movements for the most part slow. It wasn't until his feet were shot at did her start to scurry off to hide. He was the size of a horse, he shouldn't be scared of a smaller human. Eric's mind never thought like that though, just wanting to be peaceful with others. "S-sorry..!" The chimera was trying to find a hiding place, mutter the same word over and over again in doing so.he had just wanted a meal, not a hunter to spot him.

As the beast scurried off, Kevin walked to the devoured deer carcass and kicked at it with his foot. He was surprised, a creature of its size should have attacked. While he initially wanted to shoot the thing between the eyes and leave its brains as a pattern in the forest, Kevin knew his beloved professor would be upset. Any new creatures, or at least creatures not already filed with the group had to be documented, unless the situation was life threatening.
Since the beast did not in fact attack Kevin, he could not claim it was life threatening. Begrudgingly, Kevin walked calmly to where the creature was. "What the hell are you?" He kept the rifle aimed at the large creature, a red dot glowing brightly from Kevin's site showing exactly where the bullet would hit, should the trigger pull.

Eric was trying to to grow too frantic, still on the move to hide somewhere. H was thinking of truly running, finding a tree to change behind and fake being hurt or something to keep himself alive. He looked over at the loud demand, eyes lacking pupils staring on in fear. A dog like whimper left Eric, the massive chimera behaving more like a frightened puppy as it backed up. "Ch-chimera...I chimera...no h-hurt..." It was clear it was scared, having backed up against a tree for a moment. He wanted to go home noe, or curl up somewhere to calm down. He wasn't hurting any humans, so why did this man care what he did?

Kevin was furious that his deer meat had been sullied by two different supernatural creatures. It wasn't until the whimpering of the creature hit his ears that he let the laser sight lower, no longer pointing the rifle at the creature. He'd never been one for studying when he could instead work out. His intelligence wasn't low, he just didn't go out of his way to garner information. Due to his lack of interest in mythologies, he'd never heard the Greek myth of the Chimera. The concept was as foreign as the sentence structure of Chinese. Kevin hadn't the foggiest idea.
"A what- ichamera?" He hadn't understood what the creature had stuttered out for an answer. "You won't get hurt, unless you stop talking. What are you?" Kevin could really only tell what the creature wasn't. It wasn't human. It didn't seem to be hairy enough to be a werewolf, and too monstrous for most vampires. It certainly was not a chupacabra, they were smaller and squealed more.

Eric could feel his heart thundering in his chest some, his fear at the moment distracting him from his constant pain and focus solely on the stranger. He watched the rifle be dropped from pointing at him, but he still didn't trust the stranger enough not to shoot. He was shaking in his fur, listening to the question. His words came out distorted as they usually did, his voice strongly dual toned and not natural at all. "ch-chimera made b-by...by f-f-fusing animals...t-takes alchemy...I d-dog, sn-snake...and h-human..." Words were starting to get more difficult for the chimera, his fear mixed with the beast in him him wanting to fight starting to choke his words. He needed to get away before he did attack.

Kevin looked at the thing with incredulity, it had all the parts to be fearsome, but instead it was afraid of him? The concept confused Kevin greatly, but he knew without a doubt his society would want to know about this. A mixture of animals by some form of magic? Kevin had never heard of alchemy, but it made him think of chemistry, so maybe it was something more scientific than he knew. It reminded him of some wack-jobs in the middle ages that tried to turn lead to gold, but this was flesh, not metals on the periodic table.
"So, you're always like this?" He raised one eyebrow, wondering how anything could survive like that. All he could imagine was bumbling through the forest and being scared off by rabbits. Wouldn't be a life Kevin would choose. Who knew though, maybe this had been done to him, and his group could help this chimera. The Professor had already stated someone would be showing up in town soon enough to help Kevin with the other experiment he had stumbled upon.

Eric kept eyes on the the hunter, eyes full of fear still. The question rose in its mind some at what the man asked, the chimera unable to stop from shaking his head almost too violently. He looked at the man before giving a groan and more whimpers and whines. Bones could be heard shifting and the gruesome chimera form Eric grew up in became human. He was curled up still, cowering against the tree as blue-green eyes stared up, still containing fear. This form was painful to hold while he was terrified, a hand unable to help clutch at his chest as the animals he was merged with were wanting to attack. He looked up, speaking in a normal voice, but his words were choked some and filled with pain as he stuttered like usual. "th-this form is difficult...difficult to h-hold when I...I'm scared or th-threatened. Other a-animals don't... Don't like y-you." He whimpered like a dog then, curling up further as he could feel the urge to revert back to his chimera form filling his body again, unable to stop it as he turned back into a hulking beast that cowered at a stranger with a gun.

Kevin looked away as the monstrosity before him changed with audible sounds as everything it was turned into something it wasn't. It reminded him faintly of what it sounded like to de-bone a chicken, ripping the legs out of sockets. The wet, living noise of it unsettled his stomach and it took a great deal of his willpower to not lose what little he had eaten that day.
The boy's words almost made him feel bad about his actions. He rationalized his actions as proper though, as any hunter would have responded the same way to the grotesque, conglomerate before him. It wasn't human, it wasn't animal, it seemed like a mistake to Kevin. This wasn't some amazing creature that unfolded on the pages of a comic book, powerful and thriving. It was barely alive and afraid to do anything to protect itself to keep on living. Kevin pitied it.
As the man-beast spoke of the 'animals' not liking Kevin, he quipped, "Was it something I said?" He knew he'd been aggressive, but it was a natural response. This thing before him appeared devoid of even the most basic survival instinct. Fight or Flight. The creature had done neither, just curled up to hide a massive form where there was no cover. As the man turned back into monster, Kevin kind of shrugged, not seeing what more he could do, "Guess you aren't going to attack people since you just kinda.. curl up like a kicked puppy." It was his primary concern when dealing with the supernatural. If he didn't hurt people, then Kevin didn't need to eliminate him. At this time at least.

Eric was still trying to keep distance between him and the hunter, his heart racing as he stared up with empty eyes now. he didn't know what to do, the animals in him starting to win the fight for control over his bulking form. as the man kept talking, the chimera had put its hands over its ears, shaking its head while he whined. The canine in him seemed to take offense to being called a kicked puppy, a growl starting to leave its black lips. Eric started to move back, working to pull itself from getting anywhere the human. "Go...g-get away!" He was clearly fighting with himself before he rose to run off on his hind legs, towering over the human as he was holding his head in his hands.

His rifle was angled towards the ground, but he left one hand on the grip, finger next to the trigger. Kevin held his free hand in a non-threatening manner, palm facing the creature before him, "Hey now, just calm down kid." He really didn't want to shoot the dog-human-thing. Already he'd forgotten the word that encompassed what the creature before him was. Kevin wanted to say camera, but that didn't sound right. A phone call to his group would clear it up, Kevin felt certain. If he made it back to his apartment and his cell phone.
"Y'know, you go back to the deer," He point over his shoulder to the mangled carcass, "and I'll just leave. Like it never happened." Kevin stepped back. The movement could easily have been seen as the start of a retreat, but it doubled as a defensive position. Sizing up his could be opponent, Kevin figured he could get at least one, if not two shots into the beast before high-tailing it out of there. Knee-caps and the face. Those tended to stop foes. With his rifle angled down already, he'd likely aim for the legs and lower torso, no reason to waste a half-second to go for the head.
Close quarter combat is not what the rifle was built for, but Kevin would find a way to manage if it came to that. He hoped that he could calm the critter down, maybe talk him into being a person again.

Eric kept alternating between whines and nasty snarls, shaking his head each time he made the latter. The canine in his was just relentless in wanting to attack Kevin, though with him standing on hind legs the canine wouldn't know much of what to do. He hated when he ended up so torn apart like this, knowing his self control would become fleeting. He attempted to turn into a human again, but the canine part of him was wanting to chase the hunter out at the least, a nasty snarl left him when he doubled back over to where he stood on all four legs, eyes staring down Kevin, the snarl seemed louder as he stood aggressively for a seconds one paw stepping forward before he was pulling himself back again with a bark. "Just...Go! R-run now!!" The canine in him wouldn't chase, but the human needed out of here now before they were both hurt, or eric was sedated.
