It had been a strange couple of days getting settled in properly in her new job as well as new town. Jocelyn wasn't really old enough to imagine not working, heck if she hadn't been turned she would only just be retiring. She'd just been about to head home for the day after wrapping up a case when another one rolled in. When interviewed, Jocelyn had made it perfectly clear she'd gladly take the night shift, every night, and if she were to work through the night she was also likely to continue working all the way until nightfall again before going home. Apparently as long as she came wherever she was needed at night time, that was fine.

The body that now lay on her table made Jocelyn frown slightly. Even before ever touching the body, she knew it was a werewolf from the specific scent it emitted and that meant she should involve the town alpha as soon as possible. She knew she barely had enough time to do what she needed to do and get back again to the morgue before sunrise, but it was a risk she had to take.

Removing her white coat, Jace revealed her baby blue dress before she picked up her purse and headed out. Once she was outside of the clinical environment, the air didn't smell like death and formaldehyde anymore and she was quick to get to all the place she could think of finding a werewolf until she came across a random wolf walking home from a party or something. Taking sort of like a business card out of her purse, she shoved it in his hands with a brief message. "Give this to your alpha and tell him it's urgent that he comes to see me at that address." With that, she returned to the morgue again and to her autopsy room just as her phone beeped, alerting her to the imminent sunrise.

Putting her lab coat back on over her dress, Jace closed it hastily and put on a pair of gloves before she moved to do some examinations before the alpha could get there. She took her own pictures for one thing, though first with her phone as she'd take pictures of the things that would work in her favor to humans, marking everything of interest, then she went on to turn her recorder on and started recording her findings that way. Since she'd missed her window to go home, she might as well stay and find out all that had happened to the young werewolf boy on her table before he'd died. It was obvious he'd been tortured.

The moment she heard the doors open, she'd instantly covered the body with a sheet before the person entering could really do much more than get a quick glimpse at the dead body on her table.

Jack was putting Kailah down for the night, he had finally gotten the toddler to sleep when he heard a knocked on the door. He prayed that whoever it was had better had some important new to be coming to his house this late at night and just when he had put his daughter down. Luckily Kailah didn't wake up from the noise as he quietly tiptoed out from her room and went to the front door.

It was one of the newbies that had joined his pack. The boy looked confused and somewhat worried when Jack took noticed of the paper in the boys hand and took it. He read over it."Who gave this to you?" He asked.

"I don't know....some girl....she was a vampire." The boy said.

Jack nodded and sent the boy home while he called a baby-sitter to come and watch Kailah. Once the baby-sitter was there, he headed to this girls workplace to find out what was going on. He went through the back, not wanting to really go through the process of just speaking to someone on where to find this girl.

Finally, he sniffed her out and smelt a dead werewolf, young at that. He frowned and opened the door, walking in and stared at the back of the girls head."What is it that you want?" He asked.

When spoken to, Jocelyn turned around and faced the werewolf and his somewhat accusing question. Smiling slightly at him, she pointed to the boxes with gloves by the door. "I'm glad you could make it, long story short I'm the new medical examiner and since I have a feeling we'll meet again you can call me Jace. Please grab a pair of gloves over there and I hope you're not squeamish." Now that she'd introduced herself and why she was there, the vampiress proceeded to remove the sheet just enough to reveal the boy's face.

He was a young boy, possibly in his early teens, with short blonde hair and a lingering tan from summer. A shallow cut was visible on his cheek, sparkling with what could only be a residue from some form of powdered silver from the way the skin was slightly red around the wound. "I need to follow the books as much as possible, at the same time I can't drag a hunter through the justice system. What I need is and I.D. and a few more minutes of your time after that."

Stepping back from the body to allow the alpha some time to look over the boy's face, Jocelyn realized she'd pulled the sheet a little too far down as the boy had a burn around his neck, almost like someone had put a silver collar on him to keep him in place. It was disgusting really how much this particular hunter enjoyed torturing his victims. Especially since she knew they had about eighteen days to capture the hunter before he was gone from Bitter Springs. A series of supernatural murders, equally brutal to this one had been the last cases she'd worked before she'd moved to Bitter Springs.

"If this is the guy I think it is, we have three days before another teen disappears, a witch this time, and then another three days after that before she ends up right here. If I show you exactly what he's done to this poor boy, will you help me stop him before he kills three more people and disappears?"

A medical examiner? Jack hadn't really taken the time to really wonder more about the human occupations because he wondered why a vampire would want.to look at dead humans all day? He shook the thoughts aside and focused now.on the body that was still covered. He did as she said, putting on some gloves and couldn't help but tp feel his eyes widen some at who it was that was laying underneath that white sheet.

He knew the.victim, his.name was Jeremy Anders; the boy already had hard life and now....he had come up this way. Jack looked for the boy when he went missing but couldn't find a trace of him. He wondered if maybe Jeremy had run off, that happened alot around here especially with teenage supernaturals but Jack had been trying to teach the boy, even let him stay with him and fed him when his.good for nothing parents neglect or.abused him.

He saw the burn mark around his neck, he growled and looked away, turning his back to the body. Anger went through the alpha at what he could only imagine what Jeremy haf gone through."I know the.boy....his name is Jeremy Anders, his.only 17.....and he became a.member of my pack after he was attacked by a rogue....I was teaching him.....I....I thought maybe he had run off....but I never expected this." He said softly, anger and sadness both drenched his words.

He listened as she explained that is this was the same killer that she had experienced before then they only had three days before he found his next victim and this time it would be a.witch. Jack knew many witch's and he looked back at her."Is there a age preference the.sick bastard.perfers...if he likes to kill young ones then I.know a potential victim but if it.doesnt matter....then alot.of people I know will be in danger." He said, including the mother to his child, if anything were to happen to Amanda he would find the bastard himself and.toture him like he did to Jeremy. He felt like Finny was safe, he was a siren and thatdidn't seem to be this killers memo. t

It had never occurred to Jocelyn that a vampire working as a medical examiner was strange to other people. She'd always wanted to be a doctor when she was growing up, but ever since she'd been turned the only human company she could really stand for longer than absolutely necessary were the company of the dead. So a medical examiner had been a natural choice when she'd had to choose which field of medicine to go into.

Almost instantly after learning a name to go with the kid, Jocelyn was by his chart and scribbled down the name and age of her victim. She couldn't tell anyone how she'd learned those details, but it didn't matter. She needed to know so she could silently inform the parents that their supernatural child was killed by a hunter.

"I've barely had a chance to look Jeremy over, but what I've seen so far fits this hunter's pattern. He goes after people in their early to late teens, from what I understand that's usually when werewolves first change and superhumans usually discover their abilities. He's less picky about witches and vampires, usually picks someone who just looks young enough to fit the profile."

Putting the clip board with notes down, Jocelyn moved to expose the boy's arms. "Jeremy has silver burns all over his body. Hands and feet were tied by silver chords... He died a few hours ago, which means he's keep kept alive to torture ever since he disappeared. We're dealing with someone with extreme prejudice. I can't warn the human population since this really doesn't apply to them at all. Is there anyone I can contact who can warn the other supernaturals in town?"

So, this hunter went after those that were young. He knew he had to warn Dahlia about Vincent, seeing as her younger brother had fit the hunter next potential victim. He wasn't sure on telling his beta about this, the wolf would go into a protective rage like mode and he needed the beta to be on alert.

"I can take you to the council and you can present your evidence that this is him, you need to make sure of it though before I take you or the council won't be happy." He said.

He sigh, knowing he would need to talk with Dahlia about this before even having a meeting since the hunter would go after a young witch next.

Jack wanted definite answers? Well there was only one way to know for sure. "I should warn you, it's not a pretty sight," she said before she pulled the sheet all the way off of poor Jeremy. If this was her hunter, she'd find his brand somewhere on Jeremy. Usually with the werewolves and vampires it was where they'd originally been bitten.

"Your wolves are safe from this guy now, but it never hurts to be careful all the same," she said before she went over to the body. Normally she'd turn her recorder back on when she was doing this, but she was looking for something specific. She started on Jeremy's bare arms and turned them over, working as quickly as she could because she didn't want to keep Jack for longer than necessary. "Defensive wounds on his hands, looks like he scratched the hunter," she remarked mostly for Jack's benefit so he'd know that Jeremy had fought back.

"This cuts on his abdomen were made a day or so ago," she observed before she finally found what she was looking for. Inside what looked like a faded scar from an animal bite on the boy's calf. The mark was one she was getting painfully familiar with, the shape of a crescent moon. "He's been branded. Summon your council." Despite being used to this brutality by now, she still felt sick when she thought about this hunter. Probably because she'd seen his last five victims now and the last vampire he'd killed looked a lot like they were her age.

He had seen worst, it was only hard for him to see because he knew the victim. Jeremy had gone through alot and the fact that the boy had died such a painful and even slow death made his blood boil. The hunter was merely using that title to kill, hunters kill yes but they don't torture their prey like this.

He only nodded at her remarks to the defensive wounds that were left, glad that the kid at least fought back. He then heard her five three mark that she had been looking for. He only nodded."I'll need some pictures and records of previous killings to show the council what we are dealing with." He said. Whenever he presented something, he needed a lot of information so the council didn't think that he was being stupid or not being thorough with the issue.

Jocelyn understood that he needed physical proof to show the council. There was only one problem, the files were available to take out of the morgue. At least not officially. Walking over to the files cabinet in the corner, she opened it and pulled out a folder she'd brought with her from her last job. Opening it, she pulled out a picture of the werewolf from the last town that showed how he had the same burns around his neck as well as the cut on his cheek. Next picture she pulled out was of the brand on his arm, surrounded by a faded bite mark.

"Since I'm already breaking the rules by telling you any of this, it would only be fair to break them again and give you these." She pulled out the pictures of the witch next. He was young, curly haired and fair skinned. His cheek was cut as well, and the wound was glinting with a substance she hadn't managed to figure out what was. She pulled out the picture of his neck, branded with the same crescent moon as the others.

The last two picture she pulled out were both of girls. She only pulled out their headshots and where they had been branded. "That's all you need to prove it's the same hunter. You're welcome to view all the details in here, but the other pictures and findings aren't for everyone. I haven't processed and taken proper pictures of Jeremy yet, so if you need pictures of him, you'll have to use your phone."

He nodded, watching her take the pictures out and handed them to him. He looked over the pictures and took his phone out, taping pictures of Jeremy body, focusing in on the brand on the boys ankle and took a clear picture of it. "Thank you forletting me know." He said. He was wondering why she chose him, but more likely it was because he wa more of ..public figure than the other council members were since he was not only on the council but also a alpha.

"I'll let you know what the council says." He said, looking back to Jeremy and gave the.boy a sad expression. Jack looked tough and even scary and.intimidating but really he was a.softy at heart. He left then, informing the.council members that their was a.emergency they all needed to discuss
