She gave up, there was no way she could win over Valerie if she didn't give in to her anger. Casey's encouragement didn't really help the matter as she pushed Valerie off of her and growled at the other wolf. "Don't you fucking bring Kailah into this," she growled, punching the other before she was thrown off again.
The two women rolled around trying to get the upper hand before Valerie had the upper hand again and tried to force Amanda to clam down. When she realized it wasn't working at all, she looked up at Casey and nodded slightly, giving him permission to drain the redhead again as she clearly wasn't calming down the way she was kicking and trying to fight her way free again.
"I think you've had enough for today. If you can't calm down on your own, we'll have to keep trying, but not today." With that she got off Amanda and breathed heavily, not expecting to be pressed down into the ground again by the other, who clearly wasn't ready to give in yet.

Casey gave a full out laugh at the display of anger Amanda gave once her daughter was brought into this. So that was where some of this anger stemmed from. Casey was starting to conclude that her temper grew worse as a means to protect her child. The dragon could buy some of such a thought, but this woman had rage in her from the get go, it just wasn't brought into the light fully until the child was born. It watched with orange eyes before Valerie gave it a signal to drain the rage right out of Amanda, the dragon grinning before sucking the woman dry of the emotion. Casey was rather satisfied with this, jumping down from it perch now while Valerie talked. It couldn't help to add its own words, and not out of malice for once. "You could easily beat this rage you know. Your just going to have to let go of that pride you seem to have. Sure the child is important, but blind rage never kept any baby safe. Least none i've seen and i've seen quite a few."

It was a relief to be free of all that anger again. She didn't know how she'd even lost control that time, it seemed she went into overprotective mode even when her daughter wasn't around just at the mere mention of her name. It had been bad before when she just had her magic, but it seemed to have gotten worse with her added wolf instincts. It seemed the werewolf side of her was even more protective than the witch.
"I don't know if I can," she replied to Casey's words and got off of Valerie now that her anger had disappeared all together. She hadn't realized how exhausted she truly was until then and just laid back on the ground, breathing heavily to try to catch her breath. Why did these wolves always seem to know how to bring out the worst in her? Jack was very good at it when he gave her a hard time and Valerie seemed to have picked up right where he left off as far as a hard time went.
"I wish you'd all just leave me alone long enough to sort through things on my own," she muttered quietly and stared up at the night sky. It didn't help when she knew that Casey was right. It was her pride that got in the way most of the time. She couldn't stand it when people humiliated her or when they hurt her, she didn't want anyone around her daughter because she didn't want to see the toddler hurt and she certainly didn't want to be babysat so she could get her instincts under control. Getting back on her feet, she brushed herself off and sighed slightly.
"If you want to tell Dahlia I'm not ready yet and not spend the whole week watching me, that's fine." She told Casey before she helped Valerie up and started walking back to her apartment. She was taking a long shower before she planned on getting back to bed, regardless of what her current company had to say about the matter.

Casey could only sigh a bit annoyed, wishing Amanda really would just let that pride go. It was more hindering than the rage in its opinion, and that was saying something. The dragon followed along, unable to muffle its chuckle at what the woman mumbled under her breath. Casey knew on her own she was most dangerous, unable to be stopped or tamed to reign in her rage should she start to get mad at herself. Orange eyes looked curious at her and her words, the sly smirk still gracing its lips. "It's not up to me to just do something like that. You want to prove to her you don't need me right? Well come on, you're spitfire sure, but I can feel your desire to want to over come this. Now I think its boring that way, but as a creature more meant for balance than destruction like me, you need to try." Casey started to follow them back to the apartment, its pace rather calm and near lazy at the moment.

The only good thing that had come out of the evening was that she at least knew what her problem was. It wasn't necessarily that she was angry all the time, it was just that it took nothing to ignite her constantly short fuse. Especially when that damn pride of hers kept getting in the way, she just didn't know how to get around that.
"I'm so much better at destroying things than fixing them though," she replied to Casey, unable to help the chuckle that escaped her. It was true, time and time again lately she seemed to do nothing better than ruin everything for herself. She had learned too much, seen and done too many bad things to ever be a complete creature of balance like Casey had phrased.
Essentially, it was her own pride that had pushed her to wanting to get out of her contract to begin with. She couldn't stand being so dependent on other people, she'd always gotten by just fine on her own until Jack had more or less forced her to go see Dahlia as a way of trying to get back in her daughter's life after Macon had screwed up and lost control. It still hadn't sunk in that she was to blame for Macon losing control in the first place, she was too blinded by the consequences of that fateful evening.
When they returned to apartment, Amanda did as she'd planned and went straight to the bathroom and turned on the shower. Hopefully she wouldn't break anything this time as she didn't have the energy to even begin to think of any way to cause trouble. Closing the door, she undressed and stepped into the shower.
Valerie found her way to the fridge and pulled out a beer before she sat down on the couch. "I don't know what else I can do," she muttered and had a drink before she put the cold bottle against the side of her face to dull the pain from the hit Amanda had landed. "I can't help thinking she needs more than a friend to really get out of this..."

Casey groaned at how it wasn't seeming to sink into Amanda's head how she could keep some kind of balance in herself. The dragon chose to take the form of a white dove, still having orange eyes and a bright orange plume of feather on its head. It moved to rest on Amanda's shoulder until their arrival to the apartment, and until then it spoke. "I'm better at destruction too, it was what I was design for. You don't actually have to be good at fixing things, but just enough to survive. Time does better than any magic after all."
It took its human shape when they arrived inside the apartment. Casey let Amanda walk of to take care of herself, knowing there was no stopping her from resting or doing something on her own. The dragon took to watching Valerie for a moment, listening with its amused expression. So this wolf was thinking Amanda needed more than a friend to get out of this? The dragon begged to differ. "her rage stems from her desire to protect her child, i could see it when she seemed to lose it at the mention of her daughter. If you can teach her how to redirect that rage into something more kind, something is bound to change in her, and hopefully for the better if she wants me to go away."

The hot water felt really good against her skin and it allowed her to think. It was the one place she knew she'd be left alone for long enough to actually get some thinking done. While she was washing her hair, she realized that Casey was right about one thing; she needed to stop worrying so much about everything and just take it easy. One day at a time, without really getting into anything she couldn't fix without magic or ruining everything. She needed to learn how to accept help for starters. Maybe there was something else she could do as well, rather than learn how to fight to get rid of her frustration with the whole situation. At least she was past her desire to kill Candice for biting her, she'd realized no good would come of ending another life.
Valerie listened to Casey and sighed slightly. "So tomorrow we'll have to take her someplace to see how simple things can be beautiful rather than teach her how to fight. Maybe if she was reminded of the simpler things in life, she'd be able to switch her focus over to the positives instead..." She knew Amanda drew most of her power from nature as a witch, maybe if she could just get her to appreciate something as simple as water, or flowers again she wouldn't be so easily consumed by her fire alignment that seemed to do nothing but flare up whenever she was outraged.
Finally finishing up the shower, Amanda dried off and wrapped a towel around herself before she stepped out of the bathroom and went to put on a robe since she wasn't exactly planning on strutting around completely naked, what with having company and everything. Entering the living room again, she pulled a hand through her damp hair and looked at Casey curiously. "How exactly does your glamour magic work?"

Casey was leaning against a a wall, not looking so amused anymore. It wanted to go back to its crypt where its own hybrid was staying. It would rather be wrapped around Alec than sitting around playing babysitter for a werewitch with a nasty temper. It looked up at what Valerie said, unable to frown and look disappointed. "Boring, but i'm just here for the ride so I guess I shouldn't whine. Its a good start for her, maybe." It looked at its claws for a moment, trying to remove the desire to just go home. It looked over when Amanda appeared again, its smirk stretching across its face. It stood straighter then, lifting a brow at the question. "It allows me to distort what you see and feel. It's like playing with your senses. It also allows me to fabricate objects,Do I need to show you? You've fed me more than enough to day so if you wish for a bit of entertainment i can provide it."

It was obvious that Casey didn't like the idea of showing Amanda the pretty things in life, and she couldn't really help but agree with him. It was boring to not get physical about things rather than taking it slow, but if fighting didn't help Amanda deal with her issues, they had to take another approach to things.
Valerie looked up when Amanda came into the living room again and sighed softly. Amanda on the other hand was really curious about what Casey could do other than drain her anger. "So you could show me anything you'd like?" she was fascinated now. She wasn't sure if it was a healthy fascination to have, but it was better than being upset with Casey all the time for hovering and not letting her really try on her own.
"Could you show me what Dahlia thinks might have happened if we didn't make that contract?" It was a strange request, but she needed to know what everyone was so afraid of. "Or at least a worst case scenario?" Taking a beer of her own out of the fridge, she opened it and took a seat next to Valerie, studying Casey with renewed curiosity.

Casey gave a chuckle at the response that was given, or rather the question that Amanda asked. It snapped its fingers and made a rose, unable to make things a little amusing for it. "I can fabricate any you desire as well Amanda, my glamour has no real boundaries." The dragon looked at the woman a bit odd, finding the thing she asked for rather strange. She could have any fantasy she could desire at her finger tips, and she wanted the worst case scenario of what Dahlia thought. the dragon sighed, making the rose vanish in a flame. It folded its arms and looked at Amanda, starting to think this wasn't the brightest idea. "And why would you want to see that? My master is a complex woman, so I'm not even sure where to start with what she thinks on a regular basis, much less her thoughts on you and your rage."

It seemed it had helped that Casey had taken all her rage earlier, now she was just calm and curious. The rose was beautiful and she wanted to reach out and touch it to see if it was as real as it looked, but she restrained herself and merely watched Casey's reaction to her request. The rose disappeared though, just as soon as she'd asked her question.
"If there really is a way, I just need to see what everyone is so afraid of. I know Jack's afraid I'll hurt Kailah and Dahlia is probably worried about that brother of hers, but would never put either of them in danger..." She looked away from Casey and down at her hands for a moment, actually worried about what everyone was thinking about her. It was a nice change from not really caring though, so she couldn't really complain.
Looking up at Casey again, she sighed softly. "I understand why she made me sign that contract, I really do, but it hasn't helped me any. You draining every dark feeling or desire right out of me is just a temporary fix, it was never designed to help me change. It's been a shortcut to getting better, and it obviously hasn't really helped."

Casey listened to Amanda talk, its eyes looking slightly bored but attentive none the less. It couldn't help to sigh, knowing full well the witch had a point. Gold eyes turned grey, having made up its mind to show what kind of destructive path she could hold within her if she didn't learn. "You honestly want to see what everyone is afraid you'll do? Don't say I didn't warn you now." Casey's glamour magic quickly coated to space around them, the feeling heavy and thick as they were suddenly in the forest. The smell of fire filled the air as if one looked back towards the town it could be seen burning to the ground while cries and blood could be smelt as well. Casey was staring at Amanda with a dead look in its eyes. "over time rage can influence a taste for the darker side of magic, leaving someone without care of who is hurt as long as they get what they want in the end. Power hungry fools like that created me, and in the end killed those that cared for them or they loved most. You'd reach a point where you'd always have innocent blood on your hands just to satisfy your rage and power. Including your own daughter." As he said that, one could see there were slightly burned bodies around, one that looked to Dahlia and her brother, some of the wolves of the pack, and then Jack that had failed to shield a bloodied and dead little girl that must be Kailah. Casey even went as far as to put blood on Amanda, her hands stained the brightest red. The dragon stepped forward then, taking hold of Amanda's hands. "Do you see why you need to change now? Or do you want to turn into a monster like me."

Amanda nodded when Casey agreed to show her what everyone was so afraid of. She hadn't been prepared for how real it would all seem, how she could actually smell the smoke and hear the crackling of the fire that burned the town to the ground. Listening to what Casey was saying, she realized how close she'd really been to destroying everything she'd cared about before she'd given back some of the magic she'd taken.
Before she'd been to see Dahlia for the first time, before the fight for the town, even before Jack banned her from seeing Kailah... She'd taken exactly what she'd wanted, she had even killed to get what she'd wanted and it hadn't even affected her. She didn't even want to look anymore when she could clearly see Dahlia and some familiar faces from the pack lying there on the ground.
Amanda turned to grab Valerie's hand for support, only to find that the wolf was dead too, covered in blood like Jack and Kailah. It was then that she noticed the blood on her hands and clothes and she was shaking by the time Casey grabbed her hands. "M-make it stop," she said, struggling to get her words out. "Just please, make it stop," she didn't realize what was happening at first as it was such a foreign feeling, but after touching her cheek she realized she was actually crying. She realized that the reason she had such a hard time getting her words out was because she'd been trying to fight the tears and now she just couldn't stop.
"It wasn't about the rage, it was about feeling something... All those.. those horrible things I did... I just wanted to feel..." She didn't know how to stop crying, she hadn't cried for so long and now she was just incapable of stopping herself.

Casey saw her shake along with the horror in her eyes. It squeezed her hands the slightest touch then, trying to get her to focus on it as it made the glamour fade away to show they were just in her apartment, no one was dead, and she wasn't covered in blood. The dragon seemed to feel a bit sorry for her, lifting on of its hands to clear away a few of the tears. "You can feel Amanda, you've just been going about it the wrong way. You've been holding back better emotions to feel something you didn't need." Casey led her over to a sofa to sit down, letting her cry out all that was being bottled up and away without her even realizing it. The dragon may have gone a bit overboard with showing her what she could do, but the woman needed it if she wanted to get better and be able to interact with everyone. Even though it relied on chaos and dark emotions to survive, casey knew nothing could survive in such a state without destroying itself, and that's what Amanda was on the path to doing if she didn't clean up her act.

Amanda really hadn't realized how much she'd been holding back until then. Sure, she'd felt sad at times, but she had immediately done something bad just to feel good again. She'd been driven by the need to forget her troubles, and Jack taking Kailah away hadn't really hit her until she almost lost Mason too. It had just never struck her how close she was to losing herself completely in the process.
When she was sitting back down, she wasn't really paying much attention to what was going on as she was too busy trying to stop herself from crying. She just didn't seem able to calm herself again, but she didn't fight it when Valerie returned with a blanket and a pillow, wrapping the blanket around the redhead and placing the soft pillow on her lap. She didn't even fight it when she was moved so she was laying down more than anything. It wasn't until Valerie started pulling her fingers through Amanda's hair that the redhead started to calm down again. The quiet humming helped too. Eventually she fell asleep again from the exhaustion of the day.
Valerie didn't even try to move after Amanda drifted asleep and looked up at Casey. "I think you finally got through to her," she said quietly with a slight smile. It didn't matter if Amanda had been shocked at the sight, or that she was sleeping again. All that mattered was that she was feeling something different from that constant anger and denying she had a problem. "What next?" Valerie's way had clearly failed, maybe Casey had some form of idea for what would be best to do now to make sure she didn't just lock it all up again.
