He watched Kailah play, giving the toddler a smile as she handed toys to Amanda. He didn't regret making his decision.to allow Amanda into Kailahs life, he wanted his daughter to have a mother in her life and she already knew who Amanda was, so trying to take the witch out of the toddlers life would be unfair and cruel.
"You can spend the night if you want, get her ready in the morning for daycare." He said with a smile.

As Kailah was handing her toys, Amanda was just listening to her daughter talk about whatever fascinated her at the moment. When she started going on about someone she called 'fishy', Amanda turned to look at Jack. "Fishy?" she repeated, confused as to who her daughter was talking about. Especially when she continued to sort of hum a song she'd never heard before.
At the offer to stay and get Kailah ready for daycare in the morning, Amanda smiled. "I'd love to," she said happily. It didn't matter at this point that she was still bound to Casey by contract, as she was more or less in control most of the time. When she did lose her temper, she managed to calm down again after some time. So she still had work to do, but she was more or less back to who she'd been before she'd absorbed Kailah's magic.

Oh....right he hasn't really told Amanda what was going on. Kailah really liked Finny and wondered if it would anger Amanda that he was with Finny now. "Fishy is Finny..me and him are together now." He said.
He hoped that they wouldn't fight about this, Amanda did like to press his buttons though and just watched Kailah as she continued to play with her toys.

Amanda found that she was more annoyed than she'd thought that Jack was seeing the siren now. Sure, she liked the boy, he was kind and gentle and she could see him being good with Kailah. That wasn't what annoyed her. What annoyed her was that Jack hadn't even bothered to tell her and she'd had to find out from her toddler.
"Since when?" was all she managed to say. She didn't want to press Jack's buttons on this, if the siren made him happy she wouldn't object. She just missed Mason was all and she wished Jack had told her. It didn't matter if she didn't get to see Kailah as much as she wanted to or should, but she still thought she had a right to know who Jack was bringing around her daughter. Kailah didn't need to see her parents fighting though, and that thought alone was what made her calm right down again.
Getting up from the floor, she sat down next to Jack. "Why couldn't you just tell me?" She asked, sounding disappointed more than anything.

Kailah was playing with her blocks, giggling and wasn't paying attention to her parents. Jack sigh softly at her question and say down beside of him. "We've been going out for over a month now." He said. He did feel kinda bad for not telling Amanda about him and Finny and actually wondered why he didn't tell the other why he hadn't said anything.
"I don't know to be honest...." he said.

Amanda felt like Jack didn't trust her at all if he couldn't be honest with her and just tell her he was seeing someone new. It hurt to say the least. She knew she'd given up all claims on Jack early on and she knew they'd never work anyway, but it still didn't sit right with her that she'd had to learn that he was seeing someone new from her daughter.
"You're just lucky I like happen to like Finny, or you'd be in trouble," she finally said with a slight smile. "He's good with her, isn't he? And he makes you happy?" Those were the two important questions at the time. If, as she suspected, the answer would be 'yes' to both questions, she'd let it go and not hold it too much against Jack that he'd felt like he needed to keep it a secret from her.

"Yeah his really good with Kailah, she likes him alot." He said with a smile. "Yeah....he does...I might even love him." He added softly. Kailah had waddled over to where her parents were, Jack lift her up and placed her in between them. Kailah handed her elephant to Amanda, standing up with the help of Jack."Fishy, I want Fishy." She said. Jack smiled some."You'll see him again." He promised.

It was a testament to how much she'd really changed that she didn't try to bite Jack's head off for not telling her earlier. "That's all I need to know," she said with a smile, watching how her daughter wanted to join them instead of playing by herself anymore. She couldn't help but be amused and accept the elephant with a smile before listening to her daughter say she wanted Finny.
"I know you like it when Fishy sings, but mommy can sing for you tonight?" she said and smiled at Jack again. She knew she was nothing like the siren when it came to getting her way with people through song, but she was a decent enough singer to try to get her daughter to sleep without the added charms. She couldn't help the pang of jealousy she felt though, that her daughter seemed to want Jack's new boyfriend over her.

Kailah smiled at what Amanda said."Mommy sing." She said, clearly happy and crawled over to Amandas lap. She started to close her eyes, laying her head down on her chest. "She needs to go to bed." He said. Kailah was now trying to stay awake, getting fussy now. Jack picked her up as Kailah started crying, heading to her room and got Kailah ready for bed. "Good luck getting her to sleep." He said, handing a crying Kailah over.

When Kailah said she wanted her to sing, Amanda couldn't help but grin slightly. It was obvious she was trying to stay awake though by how she was getting all fussy. The redhead followed Jack into Kailah's room and lifted Kailah into her bed. "Hush, little baby, don't say a word. Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird," she started, it was the only lullaby she really knew, and now that she had her magic again, she used it to float Kailah's favorite things to chew on just within her reach while she was singing.
Sure, Amanda might not have the allure that a siren did, but she had magic on her side and Kailah did seem fascinated by it. The toddler calmed down after a few verses of the song, and by the time she reached the last line about her being the sweetest baby in town, Kailah had fallen asleep, gripping her hand tightly. Amanda had to very carefully pry her hand free and put down the things she'd used to distract Kailah from the fact that she didn't want to sleep.
Returning to the living room, Amanda stretched slightly and looked at Jack, clearly pleased that it was the first time she'd actually been able to get Kailah to sleep without trouble at all.

Jack had left the room, wanting to give the two some bonding time together. He turned the tv of, wanting the house to be quiet. It took him at least ten minutes to get Kailah to sleep but that was on s good night, usually it took him almost 15 minutes. He looked up when Amanda came back, seeming please with herself.
"Would you like anything to drink?" He asked.

She didn't know what had gotten into her that evening. She was in an unusually good place being able to get Kailah to sleep on her first try just made it all the sweeter. She loved that little girl, but she also got so incredibly frustrated with how she seemed to only calm down around Jack. Now that her new wolf dna seemed to have melded completely with her old, it seemed Kailah recognized her easier and actually didn't continue fuzzing like she'd usually done whenever Amanda had tried to soothe her in the past.
"You don't happen to have any beer, do you?" she asked, craving something that would calm her down just a little. It had been quite the eventful day and she was still pretty full of energy about it all. Sometimes she wondered if it was normal for werewolves to have so much excess energy of if it was just her. Maybe that was why she'd actually started to be more active to be able to sleep soundly at night.

"As a matter of fact I do." He said, handing a beer to get while he got one out himself. He sat down beside her, knowing that he would need to go to bed soon. He popped open his bottle and took a swig of his beer."You can have my bed for the night, I can sleep on the couch." He said.

Amanda smiled when Jack handed her a beer. It was just the thing she needed to take the edge off. Not enough to get intoxicated, not bad for anyone but herself and she enjoyed the taste of it. "Thanks," she said before she popped her bottle open and took a swig of her own beer. Her life had not turned out how she'd imagined it, but she had some great people in it and wouldn't change it for the world. Well, maybe except spend more time with her daughter.
"Don't worry about it, whatever is least inconvenient for you works for me," she chuckled. "I'm not looking to cause any trouble tonight Jack," she said, still feeling good about herself.
